Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted because it is not advertising for a single person, entity or product as you suggest in your message to me. Rather it is a collective venture between many organisations internationally, under the Umbrella of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children. Marynz (talk) 03:06, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted because the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children is not a company, but an advocacy organisation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marynz (talkcontribs) 23:50, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This page should not be speedy deleted because...

OK, I've given a couple of reasons, which I can't find now, and I didn't see the thing about the 4 tildes, so maybe they are now lost in cyberspace. I have added some references, and have asked people concerned with this awareness day to provide more. The intention is certainly to be encyclopaedic in style, and at least as useful as any other awareness day page.

I'd like to know whether the page is more acceptable now, please.

This article still promote some entity, person or product and would require a fundamental rewrite in order to become encyclopedic. Note that simply having a company or product as its subject does not qualify an article for this criterion. If promotional content was simply added to an existing article, do not mark it for speedy deletion; consider marking it with the tag instead, or improving the article yourself. -Gavin Perch talk 03:28, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is the main problem that it is in the future tense? Is that why it seems like an advertisement to you? Marynz (talk) 03:58, 26 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted because... -- I still contest speedy deletion. This is not intended to "read like an advertisement" and will become an important piece of education history. It is important to start recording information now, while it is still easy to access. In a few weeks' time it will be changed to the past tense and will look a lot less like an advertisement, and will be far more comparable to other awareness day pages.
