Welcome to Wikipedia

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. You may want to take a look at the welcome page, tutorial, and stylebook, avoiding common mistakes and Wikipedia is not pages.

I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers such as yourself:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --File:Ottawa flag.png Spinboy 21:28, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, would it be possible for you to provide copyright sources for all the images you have uploaded today? All images uploaded to Wikipedia have to pass our GNU free documentation licence and they can't if we don't know where they came from. Thanks. --Francs2000 01:06, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto. I'm especially concerned about the new General Grievous picture. --Maru (talk) 04:47, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
As am I. It seems this user has attempted to tag some of these images after I tagged his uploads with {{nosource}} however they have done so ineffectively. -- Malo 19:19, 18 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aayla Secura.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. — THOR =/\= 19:07, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging Image:Peter1.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Peter1.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. --Pak21 14:04, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:CA sarah noodles.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Butseriouslyfolks 20:51, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ottarious listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Ottarious. Since you had some involvement with the Ottarious redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. BDD (talk) 17:21, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
