I have reviewed your reversion of the abridgment article. However, under Wikipedia’s manual of style, all spellings should be consistent with the predominant English variety used within the article. It occurs to me that this predominant variety in the article is American. Although abridgement occurs more often than abridgment in the article, the article uses American spellings and terms specifically in its construction - from favor to junkyard to automobile to “college” to its use of the spelling percent instead of the common British construction per cent. As such, I have fixed the article. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I have also messaged house blaster. I do not view it as unconstructive if the Article is streamlined. The British English tag was added by house blaster to the article after he mistakenly thought my changes were erroneous. McDonald46 (talk) 06:09, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please read and follow MOS:RETAIN. You should not change the English variant of an article once it is established. Please revert your changes, which are disruptive. Grachester (talk) 06:19, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have been warned about this before and agreed not to do it again. Removing the message from your talk page does not remove the obligation to follow Wikipedia policy and guidelines. Grachester (talk) 06:21, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but this it is valid in comparison to last time. McDonald46 (talk) 06:22, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The variant has not been established. Although the title uses Abridgement, the article uses American English too, overweighing the British instances. I am not changing it for the sake of "simply" doing so. McDonald46 (talk) 06:22, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The variant has been established. That's why it is tagged at British English. A tag that you changed, against policy. Please revert your disruptive changes. Grachester (talk) 06:24, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The variant was tagged after I made my edits, because house blaster thought it was erroneous. There were no tags beforehand. McDonald46 (talk) 06:25, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please use thoughtful reasoning. McDonald46 (talk) 06:26, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
