Mark-up

[edit]

Hi Mccn67b you don't get italic text by writing ''Italic text'' - as you did at Battle of Stamford Bridge - you just need '' each side of the text you want italicising - that is two separate apostrophes, not a quotation mark - Help:Cheatsheet sets out the basics. Thanks, Arjayay! Mccn67b (talk) 12:56, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Battle of Stamford Bridge. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason.
It was clearly explained to you, above, That italic text is not created by putting ''Italic text'', but by putting '' each side of the text you want italicising. However, you are still adding it incorrectly, leaving a mess for others to clean-up. Please stop - Arjayay (talk) 12:52, 10 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
