Prof. Smith comments on first draft of Wikipedia article
[edit]Hi Eamon,
This is a nicely done article so far. I would just like to see you work on a few things:
1) I would like to see you develop the "Results of the Convention" more. Right now, the blow-by-blow account of the proceedings of the convention overwhelms your discussion of the topics, disagreements, debates, results, and votes that came up during the convention. Remember that your reader is going to want to know about the ideas, debates, and outcomes of the meeting because these things are important to establishing the notability and significance of the convention. Could you, for instance, discuss the contents of the Declaration of Rights and Wrongs in more detail? Could you also clarify what the National Equal Rights League was supposed to do?
2) Were African American women involved in the convention at all? Our partner website, the Colored Conventions Project, really wants us to add material on women whenever possible. Please check your minutes again on this point and include information on women if possible.StaceySmithOSU (talk) 03:02, 15 March 2020 (UTC)
Breaugh Peer review comments
[edit]- How could your peer improve the lead? I think the lead is good as is. It is clear and detailed. - Is the overall article structure clear? The overall structure is good. The lead is solid and the follow on sections are well done. - Is there balanced coverage of the topic? Is the tone neutral? The tone is neutral and the coverage of the topic is balanced. - Are the sources reliable? The sources appear to be reliable. - What proofreading or writing suggestions do you have to improve the article? Overall your article looks good. See below for further input. - What other things would you add or fix in the article? Quotation marks should be placed after other punctuation marks i.e. "Blow ye trumpet, blow," (you have "Blow ye trumpet, blow",). Also, citations should be placed outside the punctuation marks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by StaceySmithOSU (talk • contribs) 16:15, 16 March 2020 (UTC)
