If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on DisclosureNet, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 13:53, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

We do not tolerate the practice of "marketing" here; it is a form of promotion[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (MichelleWestMarketer) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:56, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Disclosure.net[edit]

Hello. I received your request to restore the disclosure.net article. I have undeleted it and moved it back to your user space at User:MichelleWestMarketer/DisclosureNet for further work. It was probably classed as advertising because, at the moment, it reads like a press release; for instance, the use of "we" and such marketing boilerplate as "As the global demand for timely and accurate disclosure information continues to grow, DisclosureNet is positioned to become the global standard for disclosure solutions." give this the appearance of a promotional bulletin, and not an encyclopedia article.

In order to make the article acceptable, it should be rewritten in a neutral tone, presenting information -- both positive and negative -- in as unbiased a manner as possible. Any information provided should be traced to independent reliable sources which are appropriately cited. At least two or three such sources independent of the company itself should be available; otherwise the article's topic may not be considered sufficiently notable and verifiable. Good sources include books, magazine or newspaper articles (but not reprints of press releases -- those are not independent, since their source is the company), television news programs, academic journal articles, and similar media that discuss the topic.

I hope that this is of some help. You should be able to work on the article in your user space. I would recommend asking an experienced editor to look it over before you move it back into the main Wikipedia article space. I would be happy to assist myself, but I will be moving soon, so I may not be available when you've finished your revisions. Shimeru 17:58, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
