[edit]Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 00:38, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Stephen Harper
[edit]The Prime Ministership of Canada does not become vacant upon the calling of an election. Harper is still the Prime Minister, and will continue to be for at least several more weeks. Even if he loses the election, he'll still be the incumbent Prime Minister until whoever wins the election is sworn in about two weeks after the election. Bearcat (talk) 15:42, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Okay guys fine...I'm sorry I even come on here.
I don't vandalize, I try to be productive in a few articles and I get crapped on every time. I watched the news, I read online and verified with 3 different sources. I don't understand why everyone has to be a cyber-cop with me. I guess Citynews, CTV and CBC are all reporting the wrong info.?
Anyhow, sorry to upset everyone, I won't use wikipedia anymore because I'm obviously not welcome to edit anything.
- I think you're misunderstanding what the media have said. No media outlet is going to say that the office of Prime Minister becomes vacant just because Parliament is dissolved for an election, because that's simply incorrect — the incumbent Prime Minister still holds the title for the duration of the election, and even if he loses the election he's still the incumbent Prime Minister until the new one is officially sworn in by the Governor General about ten to fourteen days after the election. Parliament is dissolved, yes. But the office of Prime Minister doesn't become vacant.
- Nobody ever said that you're not welcome to edit anything, either — all anybody did was clarify why a couple of particular edits were removed. Nobody even called it vandalism. Chill out, dude. We've all made mistakes on here before — nobody thinks you're a bad editor or a vandal. Bearcat (talk) 16:22, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
