Interwiki to Finnish wikipedia?[edit]

It seems that you may also be active on the Finnish Wikipedia. (At first I mistook you for fi:Käyttäjä:MikkoM.) Would it be OK to include an interwiki link to your Finnish user page, if you have one? -- Petri Krohn 09:34, 15 January 2007 (UTC) (fi:Käyttäjä:Petri Krohn)[reply]

I'm not very active in the Finnish Wiki, I have perhaps two or three edits there. I'm not even sure if I have registered there... - Mikko H. 11:33, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Finnish-Estonian military co-operation[edit]

You asked to clarify the Finnish-Estonian military co-operation. In Finnish Wikipedia there is a articles of it: fi:Suomen ja Viron puolustusyhteistyö. And what I meant "to give keys to Russia" is my bad translation. In Finnish article there is a sentence: "1939 Stalin ilmoitti haluavansa Hankoniemen Puna-armeijan käyttöön, että se voisi rautatietykein sulkea Suomenlahden välillä Hangosta Viron Paldiskiin." in fi:Suomenlahden tykistösulku. It would be interesting to start an article in english Wikipedia, but these articles need deep undestanding of military terms on english language (so almost beyond my ability). Ok, thanks for the clarification. And thanks for giving the Winter War article the thorough rewrite it so sorely needed. For my part I will try to proofread the entire article. Perhaps we should gather the active Finns in Wikipedia and aim for making Winter War the featured article for 30 November 2009, the 70th anniversary of the start of the war? Mikko H. (talk) 19:09, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I agree. We could first apply the Winter War for a Good article. This was recommended by Sander Säde. Perhaps I will try to find more Soviet point of views, and perhaps I will move some earlier sections to Background of the Winter War and leave only brief summaries. Well, first I have to work the red links as blue. All helping hands are needed. Peltimikko (talk) 19:56, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Have you checked Talvisodan taisteluja by Ari Raunio & Juri Kilin (Karttakeskus 2007)? Kilin uses Red Army war diaries and other similar sources to present the Soviet view of the battles. A very valuable book. Mikko H. (talk) 21:21, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
