German cricketers[edit]

Hi. Please note that the cricketers you've recently created fail the notability requirements for cricketers. For the Associate Teams, the cricketers are only notable after they have played in one match in a Regional Final tournament. The series against Belgium does not count. Please do not create any more articles that do not meet the notabilty requirements. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:25, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@LugnutsThanks for notifying me. I will stick to the rules and was unaware of the same as a newcomer :). Thanks again.mitratanmoy 12:40, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I suspect most of them will eventually become notable, but they aren't right now. And welcome to WP! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:44, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Lugnuts. Need your help to get some doubts cleared. I was checking this [Jersey Twenty20 Cricketers] and felt that the players in this list do not meet the notability requirements although pages for all these individuals are created. Am I missing something? I saw pages for 2 players are missing and could not resist myself from creating for them. :P (even though you asked me not to)

Most of the Jersey cricketers have played in the World Cricket League (see point 3 of WP:NCRIC), so they are notable. Dominic Blampied has not played in that tournament, so he again is not (currently) notable. I'd recommend you have a read of WP:NCRIC before creating any further cricket biographies. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 10:15, 30 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Lugnuts Duly noted and cleared my understanding. Thanks and apologies for adding one page before getting clarified.

ODI caps[edit]

Hi. Please stop changing the cap numbers for cricketers as you did here and here. You've done it on other articles too and they are now incorrect. Thanks. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 07:40, 31 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@LugnutsThanks for your response. But help me to understand why the ODI and T20I caps in cricinfo should be considered as incorrect. Considering this page, when the link on number of ODI caps is clicked, it takes to this page where also the ODI caps is mentioned as 1 (instead of 23). Same is applicable to T20I caps as well. mitratanmoy 9:20, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

@Lugnuts.Gosh!!!! I figured out now and what a blunder I did. My sincere apologies. I am reverting those changes and will update the cap accordingly. Pardon me. Acted like a complete stupid!! mitratanmoy 9:58, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

International player lists (cricket)[edit]

Hi there. I noticed that you recently updated some player lists for international cricket teams, including Jersey and Guernsey, and for some of the early World Cup matches. I fixed a few (mostly small) errors. Please be careful when updating these lists as it is easy to incorporate errors, especially with the sorting. If you do any updates to these in future (and you are welcome to!), please note the following: 1) Update all players, not just one or two (some users do this and it makes it hard to keep accurate) 2) Use the stats in the references listed on the article above the table; don't round averages up or down 3) Make sure to update the displayed numbers and the sortable values, including matching the sorting format to other rows in that page (e.g. often a high score of 4 not out would be sort|0045|4*, i.e. first three numbers for the score and last either a 0 for out or 5 for not out; this ensure that 4* is ranked higher than 4 out when the column is sorted). 4) Update the 'as of date' at the top of the list.

Ps: Welcome to WP, and I am glad you share an interest in cricket. Editing is not a race... we are all here to help keep WP up to date and accurate. Personally I mostly focus on players lists, stats and Associate international series (plus some domestic tournaments). Bs1jac (talk) 14:11, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@@Bs1jac Thanks and apologies at the same time. Unfortunately, I figured this sorting mechanism little late. And by the time I went back and fixed one set, you fixed the other one. These were lessons learnt for me and hopefully will not make these errors again. And my focus area is same as of yours excluding the domestic ones. So undoubtedly, we will keep interacting.😃 (talk) 20:11, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you[edit]

The Teamwork Barnstar
For your good work on women's T20I player lists. You would be doing a great service to WP:CRICKET if you could focus on taking a lead role in creating these lists for all of the women's teams that have debuted recently (there are several not yet created, see Women's Twenty20 International), and then maintaining them occasionally. Men's is well covered, but women's cricket needs much more help. Thanks! Bs1jac (talk) 10:13, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Bs1jac.Thanks!; This means a lot. I will keep those created and updated as much as I can. Will try my best. mitratanmoy 19:28, 22 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome. You probably noticed that I have created Canada, United States, Samoa, Mali and China and updated PNG and UAE. Some of the big teams need updating including India if you would like to sort that one out? Would be great if we can work together creating the remaining team lists and updating the others. I won't be updating them very regularly, but if we could get them updated to now, then update some of them every couple of months it would be good. Remember to add new teams to the template so that we know which have been done. Bs1jac (talk) 16:30, 23 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
And I have now added all of the women's teams to the template so it is easier to see which still need to be created. I have now done Fiji and Kenya, and intend to do the other Pacific team when I next have time (Vanuatu, Indonesia...); Perhaps you could have a go at one or two of the African, Asian or Central American sides? Bs1jac (talk) 10:53, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Bs1jac.Thanks! Sorry for late reply as I was down with fever. Yep we can work together to fix it. Already completed Mexico. Will take up African teams whichever is left. Also wait for pacific games before updating pacific teams. That way it won't be required to change for a longer period. And big teams are mess!! I tried to start with Australia and then decided to take it up later. It needs a whole reformatting. Same for other fee countries as well. Thought of taking those after all these are created. Your thoughts please. mitratanmoy 20:25, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

New Zealand women Twenty20 List[edit]

Hi. Looks like you have made some mistakes on this article. For example stats for Jess Watkin are incorrect. Could you check through to ensure that the stats are all correct as shown in the three references above the table, and that the 'as of' date is correct and the years are updated to 2019 where appropriate. Keep up the good work though! Bs1jac (talk) 22:45, 25 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Bs1jac.Yep. its not completed yet. The list is so big, I made an intermediate save so that I don't lose the changes mistakenly. Will complete today. And thanks for reviewing and correcting those errors I keep on making. mitratanmoy 03:25, 26 June 2019 (UTC)@[reply]

No problem! That's great work. Looks like India, Pakistan, West Indies and possibly others are in need of an update too (possibly ODI as well as T20I). Only three more new teams to set up (Mozambique, Namibia, Singapore). I might not have time to do any today, but happy to focus on those over the next few days if you would prefer to update the main teams. Bs1jac (talk) 08:17, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Bs1jac.I will not be able to do things today. So tomorrow I will start with whatever team is lefy other than Germany. Once the tri-nations series is complete, I will take up Germany. In the meantime, will focus on existing large teams as well as associate nations like Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands etc to update. It will be good if you could take up Pakistan team. mitratanmoy 15:35, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Really good work. I just looked at your updates for Sri Lanka and New Zealand and can see that not only have you updated stats, but also converted them into sortable tables like the lists for 'newer' teams. That's cool, I am happy to do Pakistan. Bs1jac (talk) 09:13, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Pakistan is done. That leaves Australia, India and West Indies when you have time. All looking so much better than it was! Bs1jac (talk) 10:40, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Bs1jacThanks for completing Pakistan team. I have started with India. But Australia is a huge mess and will take time. Hopefully by tomorrow EOD all will be fixed. Pending corrections now :- India, Australia, West Indies, Netherlands, Scotland and Germany. These 3 I will update once the European qualifier ends. mitratanmoy 10:55, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Wonderful. Yes no point updating those three European sides until the qualifier is over (I did create Germany today so there is something to work from). Yes I saw Australia was a mess! Bs1jac (talk) 11:56, 27 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Bs1jac Updated India, Australia, Scotland. Now left with Netherlands and West Indies. Taking it up and will complete within next 2 days. mitratanmoy 8:56, 1 July 2019 (UTC)

Pacific Games - women's event[edit]

Hi there. The scorecards are all now available for the Pacific Games Women's matches if you would like to update the player lists for Fiji, Samoa, PNG and Vanuatu. The only thing that is missing is the abandoned game from day 1 (8 July) between Fiji and Vanuatu in which a few overs were bowled. The game was replayed but the original scorecard is not available and I wonder if these stats will never be recorded. Thanks Bs1jac (talk) 19:55, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bs1jac, Thanks for notifying this and completing the PNG team. I was keeping an eye on this. Last time when I checked they were yet to upload the scorecard of final matches. I dont think they will ever inlcude those sats. It is not even mentioned anywhere in CI. So I think those are gone. The way they are handling these, I am not surprised about abandoned match stats getting missed. I have completed the update of team lists and will start updating (if not done) individual team pages. One more thing. Once England and Australia T20 series is over, I will take care of the team lists of England and Australia.
PS, Thanks a lot for suggesting sandbox. I had no clue about it and now it is helping me a lot. It is hugely helpful.mitratanmoy 09:45, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent! Glad to help. I use my sandbox A LOT for things like creating player lists or older tournament. As far as women's cricket is concerned, we are making good progress. I see you started updating the 'all teams' player list (for WT20I) - I had been ignoring this as it was so badly out of date but yes let's gradually add teams and update the existing ones... everything we do makes it easier to keep things relatively up to date going forward. It's a shame about the missing stats from the abandoned match; what CI do is replace the fixture with the rescheduled match, but they should also add the abandoned one. If you look at their fixtures for the men's Europe qualifier you will see there are two matches labelled as "9th match" and two labelled as "11th match", but I suspect they didn't receive very good info from the PG organisers. Bs1jac (talk) 10:53, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

All women's twenty20I player list[edit]

Hi. Thanks again for working on these. Just a couple of things to note before you do the rest. Firstly, it was previously agreed that there would be no redlinks on these large lists (i.e. if the player does not have an article, don't apply a link tag). Secondly, the players here should be in alphabetical order by surname, and not in cap order. See the men's lists or the women's Test and ODI lists as examples. I have fixed some countries but not all. Bs1jac (talk) 21:22, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ps: If you are editing in your Sandbox, please only copy back in the parts that you have worked on (not the whole page). I had added 2 or 3 teams and also the 'needs update' tag but these were removed when you pasted your update. Thanks! Bs1jac (talk) 22:29, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify... i am talking about the combined list woth all teams on (not the individual team list articles). Bs1jac (talk) 23:01, 26 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bs1jac, Oops!!! What a mess I made. Apologies for this. Was completely unaware of the rule. Will follow the same for the rest. I was going to fix rest of the teams. But by the time I thought of notifying you, you were done with fixing. For the rest of the teams, once I am done, I will let you know so that you can have a review. mitratanmoy 08:41, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, it happens sometimes when two people are working on a project. I have added a few more teams today and updated all of the Full Members. I'm not doing any more today... still a few more left that would be great if you could do some of them. I think still to go is just: Rwanda, Namibia and Nepal. Also would be fantastic if you could update the West Indies women ODI players page at some point when you have time; the players are already in the table so just the stats need to to be added. Bs1jac (talk) 11:41, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Bs1jac, as you already have seen, tjose three teams are added in the list. Will start with West Indies team from Monday onwards. Alongwith that Netherlands also needs to be fixed. Thewe 2 are my next tasks. mitratanmoy 15:57, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Brilliant. DOn't worry about West Indies... I am doing that at the moment. Bs1jac (talk) 16:44, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Player lists[edit]

Hi. Can I please ask that you stop changing the cricket player lists from their usual sorting format? I noticed that for WI T20I you changed all of the 'sort' tags in all columns to 'nts' tags which is not necessary (other than for averages) and leads to confusion with different lists. I saw that you made the names sortable, which is great (thanks!), but the rest was already fine and now is different to almost all of the other lists. Thanks. Bs1jac (talk) 21:33, 4 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I now realise that in the WI T20 list you didn't change tags to nts. In this case there were no sort tags in most of the columns at all and you added nts rather than sort. While I think adding sort tags rather than nts tags would have been better and more consistent with other lists, it is of course better than no sorting at all! If you could try to be consistent with other lists going forward though, and definitely not change the tags in existing lists, that would be great. Bs1jac (talk) 21:45, 4 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bs1jac, I was waiting for your review comments. :) Actually both India and West Indies list was in pretty bad shape (West Indies being the worse) and I wanted these to include the standard columns before the start of the current T20I series. So I went with the West Indies list using the format which India list had (i.e., the nts tags) as that was quicker to complete. Once updated I was fixing this in my sandbox. But I was out for last 3 days without access to my laptop due to which I could not replicate the formats to the actual lists. Now I have reformatted the both the India and WI list and includes the updates you made yesterday. Let me know if any modification (except the catch & stumping in India list) needs to be done to these list as I will be happy to fix that. mitratanmoy 11:30, 5 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Thats good stuff. In general I haven often found the India lists to be 'out of sync' with the others so not the best example. And yes also some if the older lists (for full members) have lacked any sortable tags, I just haven't bothered to go through and add them! Bs1jac (talk) 19:14, 5 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Would you mind having a go at sorting out List of Ireland women ODI cricketers when you have a chance? It's not a big list but needs a bit of formatting. Would be a useful fix if you can. Bs1jac (talk) 20:36, 9 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bs1jac, Sure. Started working in my sandbox and will complete it within next couple of days. It's probably worst ever list I have seen. :). On a different note, ICC schedule shows another associate tournament in Romania. 'mitratanmoy 10:20, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yep I created a page for that a few days ago (2019 Romania T20 Cup). Not much info yet, but seems to be two groups then possibly semi finals and positional play off to make 111 matches in total. Bs1jac (talk) 15:19, 10 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Bs1jac, Completed Ireland WODI list. Please let me know if any more list needs to be taken care of. mitratanmoy 09:24, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mitratanmoy, I don't know if you're aware of the Women's cricket task force, but whether you are or not, you've been doing a hell of a good job on a number of the women's lists. Keep up the good work! Harrias talk 09:58, 13 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Harrias, thanks for your nice words. I was not fully aware of this task force although I had seen reference to this task force once. Would love to be part of this team. And Bs1jac has helped me a lot in the lists creation and corrections in the lists created by me. So credit goes to him as well. :) . Also working on some of the to-do lists I saw in the task-force page. mitratanmoy 08:46, 14 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. I just saw this and wanted to add my thanks again for your work on the player lists, especially the women's lists. I actually came here to thank you for updating the Australia and West Indies women ODI lists, which I was leaving until the end of the series but I see you have already done them up to the second ODI so will leave you to update the last match too. I have added the debut players to the overall list. What has been great in recent weeks when there have been lots of matches going on, is that most days I have done some teams and you have done some teams, so they all get done pretty quickly without either of us needing to do them all. Lots more coming up, and I will need to create a few more men's lists during/after the Africa T20 next week and the South American cup in October! Bs1jac (talk) 21:10, 11 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Bs1jac for your nice words. Let me know which men's team you need to create so that I can be a help. South American cup is franchise based or national team's competition? I could not find any schedule for that. And I have noticed that the Bangladesh T20I team needs sort tag addition. Once the tri-series is over, I will fix it. mitratanmoy 11:18, 16 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Project for you...[edit]

Hi there. If you are looking for a project to do, I noticed that the list of Australia and New Zealand women Test cricketers could really do with a big improvement. Neither has any stats, just a list of players and it would be brilliant if you could bring these in line with the others. Luckily there are hardly any women's Tests played these days so you can take your time in Sandbox without new matches coming along, and once updated the lists are easy to maintain. Only if you are interested of course. PS: Did you join the women's cricket task force? Sometimes helps with ideas of things to investigate and work on. You've certainly done a lot to help the project already! Bs1jac (talk) 11:24, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Bs1jac. I was down with flu for last couple of days. So could not check anything. Now I'm back. Will fix Zimbabwe T20I and team records. In parallel, will keep updating my sandbox starting with New Zealand. mitratanmoy 06:58, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you feel better now! I also saw that India, Pakistan and New Zealand women ODI lists are out of date (and in New Zealand's case no stats at all). So if you want to do them, that's two Women's Test lists and three Women's ODI lists to work on. Bs1jac (talk) 10:50, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yep Bs1jac. I am back now. India and South Africa is pending as their ODI series is going on. Will update them tomorrow. But Pakistan and New Zealand is up to date. mitratanmoy 12:21, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, I was looking at the Test lists, not ODI! So yes, I think that just leaves Australia and NZ Tests as I originally mentioned. Bs1jac (talk) 12:43, 14 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

South American Cricket Championship[edit]

Hi there. Just to let you know that I have now completed the player lists for the men's teams. There were a few names with different formats to CricHQ, mostly from Brazil, and I have updated accordingly. I have also updated the overall player list page. Could you add the top run scorers and wicket takers, and other records as usual, to the various team pages? And update those bits on the Mexico team page? Nothing yet for the women's event. Thanks! Bs1jac (talk) 18:07, 13 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Today's games - 22 October[edit]

Hi Bs1jac , Taking up Namibia-Scotland. Not sure about afternoon. If time permits will take up UAE-Jersey. mitratanmoy 06:27, 22 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I didn't see this. Better to use @Username: as it will alert me. I have been pretty much covering this event so far, but will be busy at times over the weekend and might not do all the games as quickly. Also would you like to take sole ownership of the player lists during the Australia Sri Lanka T20I series and the Pakistan Bangladesh WT20I and WODI series that start at the weekend? If so I'll leave those in your capable hands. Bs1jac (talk) 21:24, 25 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Bs1jac:, My bad.. No issues from my end.. Will do the updates for qualifier.. and if CI updates scorecard quickly, then might take a look at Iberia cup. mitratanmoy 10:27, 26 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

list of leading run-scorers[edit]

@Bs1jac:. Is there any list of leading run-scorers in t20I cricket? If not, will it be a good idea to create such one for both men and women? I was thinking to create one. Your thoughts on this. mitratanmoy 10:57, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, sorry I didn't see this (I'm not sure why). Did you find anything on this? There is this page that includes the top 5 run scorers and links to the Cricinfo list, so I don't think the cricket task force would want a page just for this list. There was an equivalent page for women's t20i records too but it was very poorly updated and this now redirects to Women's Twenty20 International where there are a few stats. Bs1jac (talk) 20:20, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Bs1jac:. Thinking of creating a list for Women's T20I records similar to this page. Your thoughts? mitratanmoy 10:32, 6 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Cricket at the 2019 South Asian Games (Women)[edit]

Hi again, last one from me for today I promise! I don't know if you have been following this event, but I wanted to raise with you the fact that there is confusion in CI about whether Sri Lanka's matches count as WT20Is as they have sent an under 23 team (they shouldn't count as far I as know). CI originally set them as WT20Is and they are seeking clarification from the ICC. At the moment, the match today between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka is not marked as WT20I, no players are listed as making a debut (even though several would been doing so), and the list of players by WT20I caps has not added new players for SL. However, the player stats have all updated for the time being as if the match was a WT20I. Therefore can I suggest that we don't try to update any players lists or team pages for the team's in the women's event until it has become clearer? I updated Maldives and Nepal yesterday and that's fine because there is no doubt about the status of that match. A bit messy! Bs1jac (talk) 20:27, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Bs1jac:. I don't mind even if you ping few more. :) I even did not know that there is such a tournament. Came to limelight because of Anjali's effort. And I have seen the conversation you had with Lugnuts on your talk page. So I am not going to make any changes. But interestingly they have not marked today's Bangladesh-Nepal match as a T20I. mitratanmoy 05:55, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CI have now said that neither Sri Lanka or Bangladesh squads have T20I status in this event (even though BAN have several senior players). Stat lists are still counting the games temporarily though even though players profiles are not... ultimately they will be changed to 'other t20i' like SL-Ban now is. Just leave their stats until after all is settled :) Bs1jac (talk) 00:03, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Updating player lists before source has updated[edit]

Hi there. Thanks for the work you have bene doing. Can I point out though that you shouldn't be updating player lists before the source has updated. You updated the German women's T20I list today 10 minutes before the scorecard and stats had been loaded (and I think similar yesterday); scorecards from other sources should not be used to calculate changes in stats. For example there is currently incorrect numbers for some of the bowling compared to Cricinfo (I know this is because CI have made a temporary mistake, but still we need to use the referenced source only). Thanks. Bs1jac (talk) 15:08, 9 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
