References are extra links added after a line which support whatever is said in that line. For more on it, see WP:Citing Sources.

For a quick understanding of how references are added, this is how you do it.

  • First make sure the article you are adding it to has a {{Reflist}} near the end. If not, add it under a references section
  • Find out the link to the external page you want to add as reference-
eg www.coca-cola.com/
  • After the line where you are supposed to add the reference, type this-
<ref> [www.coca-cola.com/ Coca Cola website] </ref>
  • There! You added your reference. When you look at the bottom of the page to check it, it will show as "Coca Cola Website"
