July 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jamesrichards12345. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to United_Macedonian_Diaspora have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. James Richards (talk) 22:12, 3 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest question.[edit]

Information icon Hello, MuzoKral. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.

As I mentioned in this edit summary, if I am in fact correct, then you definitely have a conflict of interest with the material you are editing. Now if I have made a mistake in my facts somehow, then let me know. But if I am correct then I will have to report you if you continue to edit pages with which you have a clear conflict of interest. Advocating to not delete the organization's Wikipedia page as you did, is unacceptable if you are in fact the president of that organization. As I say, do let me know if I have my facts wrong here. Thanks. Apples&Manzanas (talk) 02:44, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
