A tag has been placed on Amateur Poker Tour requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. See boiler plate above. There is no indication subject is significant. Article clearly does not indicate subject meets notability requirements. Deletion is not about quality of writing but about whether or not subject meets notability requirements and has verifiable information from significant 3rd party sources not connected with the subject. That's the crux of the matter. You may want to work on the article in your user space, as described above in the boilerplate notice, and then ask an experienced editor if it does in fact meet inclusion requirements of notability and verifiability. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 16:08, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Amateur Poker Tour, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Dlohcierekim

A tag has been placed on 'Doing a Rossco', requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

nothing better to do[edit]

Well no, it's been a long time since anyone accused me of that. Why do I care? It's a philosophy, and an ideal. If you read my user page, you'll see part of it. A person does not put in the amount of time and energy and self to become trusted sufficiently to become an admin without caring deeply and passionately about our Encyclopedia. And yes, I've much to do apart from Wikipedia. I've a job, and a family, and other interests besides.

Now, why are you here? Is it to build the Encyclopedia? There is more work to be done than can be done. Thousands of articles need improvement in quality of writing, or expansion, or improved references. There is much that needs doing, and so few to do it. If you are interested in building something bigger than yourself and anything else you have known here-to-fore, then welcome. Dlohcierekim 06:25, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
