Welcome![edit]

Hello, Namiswaaan, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

{{Help me}} Hi there thank you for your response. Can you give advice on how to write an article about a musician/artist that is not already on wikipedia objectively? I do not work for or represent the subject of the article. Merely noticed that there was no article for this person/subject and tried to research resources to create this article. Are more reliable resources necessary for this subject?
Thanks Namiswaaan (talk) 18:22, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello there, before we proceed, could you please explain if you do not work for or represent the subject of the article how you own the copyrights of these images you uploaded as your own work? GSS💬 18:37, 7 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
{{Help me}} Yes, to explain I do not work for or represent the subject of the article. I merely saw there was no article for this musician/subject, and wanted to try create my first article. I have spoken on live chat with an assistant as I was unsure about copyright details of images, and they have helped me to understand that being given an image from a photographer and consent is not usually sufficient as they may not understand the broad release. Additionally their advice was that commons has a release generator which the photographer could sign to allow usage of the image, however it would be better if the photographer added the image to the draft themselves. I have since removed the image from the draft due to the copyright concern. I hope this answers your question. Namiswaaan (talk) 01:57, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
May I know who provided these images to you and why? GSS💬 03:25, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
{{Help}} Yes, the person (Stuart Camp) is a photographer who shares images taken at conventions of this topic/genre/culture on social media. The image was used on the subjects own social media, with credit to the photographer. I have just asked the photographer on the why, and they were happy for use of the image on the Wikipedia article as long as they can be credited. (I believe I could achieve this by mentioning the photographer below the image in the infobox?) Regardless of this the image has been removed from the article draft for accuracy and to adhere to the copyright laws suggested above on libera.chat. {{Help me}} - mistyped this above. Namiswaaan (talk) 21:31, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
{{Help me}} The image that had been removed due to copyright reasons has now been uploaded by the photographer to adhere to legal requirements. Is this article ready for re-submission with the amended information? Namiswaaan (talk) 14:20, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
