Toronto Area Bands of the 1960s
[edit]Hi Nick, I recently prodded a few articles you have penned, beforwe I realised you seem to be involved in a lengthy project to create a series of articles about Toronto-area bands from the 1960s (possibly a research topic you have embarked on?). That's a great effort, but please consult the guidelines laid out at WP:MUSIC. Note the sentence: contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such. Many of the subjects and bands you have written about seem to fail the standard laid out there, but since you are clearly knowledgeable about the topic, you could perhaps revisit the various pages and establish more obvious notability; a #redirect might in some cases be a more judicious choice. - I have to agree with Eusebeus. The information in those pages is great, but the notability of the subjects is often only tangential. I encourage you to continue your work, but use it to improve the articles on more well known artists. Also, you might consider an article similar to "1960s Toronto music scene" that incorporates the history of several of these lesser known acts. Cheers, Alcuin 12:27, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
- Also, there's too many articles on more notable bands that are woefully short. Check out Electric Flag or Savoy Brown for examples, though many many more exist. Based on your contributions, I'd bet you could contribute alot towards such articles. --Alcuin 12:34, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Nick Warburton! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 5 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 391 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Larry Leishman - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Jerry Penrod - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Mike Ketley - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
