Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. Count Count (talk) 09:54, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It's great that you made the paid editing disclosure on your user page, but the question of promotional edits is separate. Even if you disclose the relationship, promotional content is still highly undesirable on Wikipedia. Hi Alalch,

I want to create a page about the company and what we have done I am working for with details about the key employees. That would be similar to articles about any companies that you would find in Wikipedia maybe not as big. I will remove any promotional content as advised. But right now I am blocked from creating any content on Wikipedia and am not sure on how to get unblocked as I am new to posting on Wikipedia. Would appreciate if I am allowed to post the articles and will gladly make the changes if it violates any rules.

I am blocked from editing any articles on Wikipedia that is the message I am getting when I log in. And I cannot create any articles or edit them even in the draft name space.

The article is just about a company and what it has done and it is doing with out any promotional activities or marketing about any product we provide. Getting blocked even for posting a few lines is surprising. Nishanthblog (talk) 03:59, 23 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is no direct block on your account, so you must be affected by a block on your IP address. If you tell me what message you see telling you that you are blocked when you try to edit, including the IP address, I will look into it. If you don't wish to make that information public, you can email it to me, or if you prefer you can make an unblock appeal on the unblock ticket request system (commonly called "UTRS").
If you can post a page full of language such as "The company has been a pioneer in innovation" and "founded in 2013 with the mission of empowering businesses" and not think that it's promotional, then it is unlikely that you will be able to contribute in the neutral way required for Wikipedia, because if you can't see the nature of what you are doing then you won't be able to avoid doing the same again.
