Eliminating interwiki links from an article is neither a "minor" edit nor is it desirable. Please leave interwiki links in articles, as they are important for cross-language collaboration. --EncycloPetey (talk) 03:44, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed almost all interwiki links in order to solve the conflict, thus the edit is desirable. Leaving a conflict prevent the bot to maintain the interlanguage links. Besides, the edits of interwiki links that are done by bots are marked minor, and my edit did not change the content of the article. Nodulation (talk) 04:21, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Amborella. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --EncycloPetey (talk) 04:05, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain why my edit appear to constitute vandlism. Leaving a conflict of interwiki links does not seem a good idea to me. Nodulation (talk) 04:21, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You are removing valid interwiki links after being asked not to do so. That appears to constitute vandalism. There is no interwiki conflict. --EncycloPetey (talk) 04:28, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Because articles about Amborella trichopoda, Amborellaceae, Amborellales and Amborella are linked by the english article, I don't think that the interwiki are valid. Here is an example of interwiki conflict : en:Amborella > fr:Amborella trichopoda, and en:Amborella > vi:Amborellales > fr:Amborellales.
I don't understand why you have protected the article. My two edits are different, I have tried to improve the situation. Nodulation (talk) 05:00, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you think this is a conflict? It isn't. The English article is about the species Amborella trichopoda; it is also about the genus, the family, and the order. There is only one species involved. If there is a fork on the French Wikipedia, then you should propose a merger there, not eliminate links here. --EncycloPetey (talk) 02:26, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This is a conflict because the bots cannot automatically update the interwiki links. Moreover, there is no reason that the other Wikipedias have to follow the English Wikipedia, the interwiki links have just to be conform to the state of all Wikipedias. As I said, the fork on the French Wikipedia is just an example, there is plenty of these:
Thus, I propose to link the English article to the 'Amborellaceae' set, as I did in my second edit that you have reverted. For sure, some links will be removed, but some other links will be updated, and the conflict will be solved. Nodulation (talk) 15:29, 3 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That removes important links to information on other wikis. The bots shouls not take priority over the users. The bots should exist to assist the users. Your proposal hurts the users in order to help the bots, which is wrong. The information on the English Wikipedia is not just about the family or the order; it is about the species and the higher taxa. Removing the links destroys access to information. --EncycloPetey (talk) 05:00, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
