Since you've accused me of adding libelous material, I feel entitled to an answer to this question: How does one ad "verifiable" information to an article about a person on a radio show? Is every fact in this article required to have a written source? Do I need to obtain a transcript of each show to add information to this article?

Unless there's a reasonable answer to this question, I'm disinclined to take your comments, or your threats of administrative censure, seriously. X3210 (talk) 02:12, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, a link to a transcript would help, especially for potentially libelous information, otherwise it is left up to an individual editor's interpretation, which is not verifiable. Wikipedia has strict guidelines when it comes to libelous information, see WP:BLP. I am referring to this edit, where you re-added defamatory information to a biography of a living person. You should take these warnings seriously, because if you add the material again I will block you. OcatecirT 03:04, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for taking the time to explain this. I want to make sure I'm clear on this before I resume editing this article. Does the following sentence require a citation?
Lynch was born and raised in Rodeo, California.
It doesn't have a citation, so does it need to be deleted? In other words, per BLP, is anything unsourced subject to deletion? If so, it looks like about half of this article need to be removed. I'm also not sure how you (or Wikipedia) define libelous. If you could point me to some guidelines that would be helpful. X3210 (talk) 03:29, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it needs a citation. In all actuality, EVERYTHING in Wikipedia must be verifiable. Here are some guidelines to help explain this: Verifiability, No Original Research, Attribution, Reliable Sources. WP:BLP explains Wikipedia's definition of libelous information. Yes, anything that is unsourced is subject to deletion. OcatecirT 03:53, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So, to review: Everything needs a citation. Web forums are not a reliable source. Nothing copyrighted can be used as a source. A transcript of the show would be an acceptable citation - but, it's copyrighted, so it can't be used. Please point me to a reliable, non-copyrighted source, or provide an example. X3210 (talk) 19:46, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We can link to copyrighted materials, we just can't link to copyrighted materials hosted by someone who doesn't own the copyright. Youtube does not own the copyright to Stern Show audio. OcatecirT 21:06, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Template:Username WikiProject Jackass requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 22:08, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jackass 3

[edit]

Was stated by Jeff Tremaine explicitly on the Jackassworld.com: 24 Hour Takeover that Jackass 3 was not going to be made. Knoxville's remarks afterwards should be taken for a grain of salt. I'm not sure how much more evidence is needed. --Raderick (talk) 07:03, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You speedy deleted this same article, a few months ago. Now, it's back but with different capitalization.

You deleted: Money as debt

Now it's: Money as Debt

Please see the AfD discussion here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Money as Debt

If you think it's worth speedy deleting it again (and if it's possible for us to do this and then remove the AfD I issued), that would be great. Thanks.   Zenwhat (talk) 01:30, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's not an identical copy of the deleted version and it somewhat claims notability, so it doesn't fall under the speedy delete criteria. Let's let the afd run through. OcatecirT 02:29, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

HI Ocatecir

[edit]

I changed the verb "fled" to "immigrated" on Nazarian, because "fled" is not neutral and objective.

Jackass 2

[edit]

How can you call that fancruft? I was just trying to add info about the 'origins' of the film. I mean what else would you put in the "production" seciton. -- Coasttocoast (talk) 00:01, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was inconsequential and very poorly worded. I tried fixing it, but then realized that it wasn't worth even keeping.OcatecirT 00:18, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Festival lineups are commonly listed

[edit]

Previous lineups are standard on nearly every music festival on Wikipedia. Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, The Bamboozle, Bonnaroo Music Festival, and Sasquatch! Music Festival are just a few examples. I am new to editing articles, but that doesn't mean you inherently know better. Are these articles all wrong? Phillips Exeter Academy

Just letting you know about my note at Talk:Phillips Exeter Academy#Echols ref if you fancy working on that article in the future. Regards – Zedla (talk) 07:21, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sodomy

[edit]

I felt an admin should be notified about this. I chose you since you seem to have some history with the article. The user Kristos248 continues to insert statements of what I can only view as being POV. Maybe it's just me, but it comes off as being opinionated and taking a strictly conservative interpretation of the passages. I don't want to engage in an edit war with this user. -- WiccaIrish (talk) 09:41, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for refraining from edit warring. User has been warned not to edit war either. OcatecirT 14:03, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would encourage you to consider that this sub-heading "Biblical View" was created, and stood essentially in its entirity for over two months prior to being completely deleted and replaced with "Bible". The complete article "Sodomy" is full of POVs substantiated with other men as their authority. The only difference with my contirbution is that I cite the Bible as my authority. I would encourage you to read my opening and refutation to "WiccaIrish" in the discussion section of the "Sodomy" article. The Sub-heading is "Liberal Slant". Thankyou. Happy Adminship Anniversary

Keep up your great admin tasks. Regards, RyRy5 (talk) 04:33, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your welcome. Actually, you became an admin a year ago yesterday (UTC). Anyway, I think I have a a good quote from Jimbo to add to your "Jimbo says..." page. Would you like me to show you? --RyRy5 (talk) 04:40, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just look at the top of User:RyRy5/Guestbook. There's also a ref underneath it for the diff. Also, go to WP:DEAL. Does that help? --RyRy5 (talk) 04:47, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Your welcome. :) --RyRy5 (talk) 04:55, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:Killhammer

[edit]

Hey 'cir, wonder if you could review the recent edits of User:Killhammer, specifically re: Viva la Bam and his and my talk pages. I'd say he merits a final warning for conduct, editing problems and serious incivility, but would be great to have your input. Cheers, Deiz talk 03:57, 1 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, definitely see the incivility. I've given him a warning, we'll see if he takes the advice. Cheers! OcatecirT 21:45, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jackass 3

[edit]

On Preston Lacy's official Myspace (Link found on jackassworld.com)He wrote down that he is one of the writers for the jackass franchise, and he goes on to state, Jackass the show, The Movie, Number Two, Jackass 2.5, and Jackass 3. is that credible evidence? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Onepiece226 (talkcontribs) 17:00, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A better source would be imdb, which says the same thing: [1] OcatecirT 23:19, 21 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rancho Bernardo High School

[edit]

The article about RBHS presents a very negative image of what is really a good school. To provide a better image of what the school is, I have put a new version of the article on its talk page, seeing as the article is semi-protected and I am a new user. You seem to be an established user; could you replace the old version with the new (it adds a section about the band and one about the Academic League)? Help me with this article

[edit]

This article has not been tocuhed in a long time. Worse it has blatant pandering in favor of games. For example it does not criticize the "positive" effects of games yet has long winded rants against any possible damage games may do http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_effects YVNP (talk) 05:14, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How did I attack other editors?

[edit]

You left me a message claiming that I attacked other editors on Talk:Rancho Bernardo High School. That page is blank except for some templates. So, how did I attack editors? 72.197.202.36 (talk) 17:11, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Considering that was over a year ago, your IP address probably changed and it was not you. You can fix this problem by creating an account. This was the edit I was referring to [2]. OcatecirT 19:11, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
