Adoption[edit]

Greetings Oddminton, I see you're up for adoption, and I'm in the market. If ever you need advice or answers, just ask me -- any question, any time. I'd like to help however I can. Because you haven't been formally welcomed, I'll add a welcome banner below as well. Happy editing. - Draeco (talk) 20:02, 25 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Boldness[edit]

As one of Wikipedia's mantras says, be bold. Forget about messing anything up. Just dive in. Everyone makes mistakes. As for the best way to help, working on articles tagged for cleanup is one way, but it can be drudgery if you neither know nor care about the subject. Another way (the way many newcomers begin) is by reading for pleasure, then spotting and correcting deficiencies. If you have a particular area of interest, you can join a corresponding wikiproject to help focus your work. As for cleanup templates, remove them when you think it's proper; if someone disagrees they'll just put it back. As for consulting other editors, the talk pages of every article are a good way to achieve this, but remember you are the writer just like anyone else, so confer with yourself and do what you think is best. - Draeco (talk) 23:45, 27 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Survey[edit]

Hi Oddminton!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate in this survey, via Google!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. Also, feel free to share this any other female Wikimedians you may know. It is in English, but any language Wikimedia participants are encouraged to participate. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you!
