March 2018[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Meters. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Point Grey Secondary School, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Do you realize that you just linked that name to an article about sex abuse? Meters (talk) 06:02, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Point Grey Secondary School. Stop doing this. The person is not notable, and by incorrectly linking his name to a sex abuse scandal you are violating BLP. Meters (talk) 06:07, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please do not "take over" articles by completely substituting preexisting content with new, unrelated content without providing an adequate reason in the edit summary. If you would like to write a new article on Wikipedia, please see the Article Wizard. Sometimes, a single term can be associated with more than one topic; Wikipedia resolves these conflicts using disambiguation. If you think I've made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Meters (talk) 06:10, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There's no evidence that Hamid Safi is notable, and even if he were you cannot simple overwrite an existing article. Meters (talk) 06:12, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Omran.safi. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Hamid Safi, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. From your username it appears that you may have a COI wrt your attempts to add mentions of Hamid Safi to the school article and by writing a promotional article about him.
