Hi Owenpetchey, I just did a major hackjob on Essential Biodiversity Variables (sorry ;). This is clearly a notable project and deserves a well-developed article. However, the article cannot consist of a blow-by-blow account of the project's development - it's supposed to be an encyclopedia entry that gives a summary and offers links to more detailed sources, not complete coverage of all minutiae of the topic. With such programmes in particular, the reader will mostly be interested in the final outcome / state at this time (what variables have been agreed on? what is the implementation going to look like), not how people got there. I have therefore tried to condense the text down into a few summary statements, retaining as many references as possible (these certainly are good to have).

If you feel you could provide a better "state at time of writing" summary, that would be valuable. Also, I'm unsure about the interconnections between the named partners; my bracket notes in that section may be off the mark, please do correct.
