September 2019[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Dharmalion76. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Plum Baby have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Hi User:Dharmalion76 - I'm unclear why you thought my edits were promotional? The company concerned no longer trades but as the brand is well known I thought it important that some ambiguous details were updated (as co-founder of the business and someone cited therein). I also made a link to an article regarding an award won by the company - I'm new to this and I was attempting a citation, perhaps that didn't work. If you had clicked on it you would see that my wiki statement was accurate.PW1963 (talk) 17:52, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"one of the fastest growing start-up food businesses" and "Plum pioneered premium in the ambient category" are blatantly promotional. Those aren't informative sentences but are advertising speak. If you have a conflict of interest you shouldn't be editing this article. Dharmalion76 (talk) 17:55, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well, both are factual, even if you might deem them promotional. The link to startup.co.uk clicks through to show that we were indeed nominated in the top ten companies to watch in 2008 (not just in food). Would you still veto the use of the reference? As I say, the brand is no longer trading but perhaps that is not relevant? PW1963 (talk) 18:19, 24 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
