Camp Merrimac

[edit]

Hi Palomar - No, I'm not an alum, but I live in the area and have an interest in things geographical around New Hampshire. I drove over to the Camp Merrimac site a few months ago and was impressed by the location. --Ken Gallager (talk) 17:15, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again. There's no particular "super editor", but there is a collection of guidelines that have developed over the years that help the community decide what belongs in Wikipedia and what is, essentially, Too Much Information. Generally, tales about specific campers, counselors, etc., are considered not notable for the encyclopedia, unless it's information that has been published somewhere and can be verified by people not connected with the camp. You can look at WP:Notability and its related articles to get a better sense of what editors are looking for. The basic rule of thumb is to write about things that are published in documents that others can access. Best wishes, and thanks for getting in touch. --Ken Gallager (talk) 17:55, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Looking at the article again, I notice that there are no references to any documents that could be checked by others. There's just one external link to the Camp Merrimac website. If you have any documents (history of the camp, etc.) that can verify what's in the article, it would be great if you could add them. You can look at WP:Citing sources to see what goes into a reference, and I'd be happy to help you format them if necessary. --Ken Gallager (talk) 17:59, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
