It's definitely a spice to English speakers. MisterRandomized (talk) 07:41, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

On paprika

[edit]

I am sorry, but we are on English Wikipedia. I consulted an English dictionary for the meaning of paprika and it told me it meant the spice, not the genus Capsicum. The English language is full of words that mean something different in the languages from which they were borrowed, for better or worse, and "paprika" in English denotes the spice you call Fűszerpaprika. Right now, it is exactly as it should be: An English speaker will see an article about the spice on visiting Paprika with a hatnote directing them to Paprika (disambiguation), and a Hungarian speaker will see the article on the genus Capsicum at hu:Paprika. You can raise the issue on the talk page, but I do not expect you would gain much consensus for your position. MisterRandomized (talk) 13:05, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
