Your Edits on Varma wikipage

[edit]

Hi Partha,

Nice to see your contribution in Varma wikipage. I know Bengali n Tripura kshatriyas use varma surname thats why I hav only include RD Burman n SD Burman name along with somdev varma. Varma is official title/surname for Kshatriya Rajus, Nairs/Malayala kshatriyas, Bengali origin Kshatriyas and few Vanniya kshatriya clans only. other communities do rarely use it. Request you to help in maintaining it cleanly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Indianprithvi (talkcontribs) 17:32, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Prithvi,
Thanks for your message. I will definitely try and help in maintaining the article cleanly. I wrote the comment on the history page of the article Varma as Bengali Kshatriyas were not mentioned in the article prior to my edit. You also stated that you put in the names of SD Burman, RD Burman in the article. Actually, I put in the names of SD Burman, RD Burman and Nabadwipchandra Dev Burman along with the info about The Kings of Tripura in one of my previous edits. See 18:44, 8 July 2009 Parthashome (Some info added). As far as the use of the title in other parts of India is concerned, many North Indians other than the Bengali Kshatriyas also use it. Mahadevi Varma would be an example. But since there is no particular clan like the Bengalis or the Rajus who use the title in North India, I did not mention this explicitly. Some Nepali Kshatriyas also use the title and I have included it in the new edit.
You are doing a good job by keeping out the vandals. keep it up as I am not always around. I was almost dormant for 2 years due to various reasons.
message also posted on your talk page for convenience Parthashome (talk) 21:47, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Parthashome[reply]

Thanks Partha,

Thats great to hear. Sorry for my mistake, I forgot that I added ab Bharat Dev n somdev n not RD Burman n SD Burman. As I found som interesting article on tripura royals. I qouted from the article.

It wud b gud idea to create a wikipage on Bengali Kshatriyas also n add that in SEE ALSO list of Varma page. Hope 2 learn more ab Bengali Kshatriyas through you :-)

I agree Varma is used by few other ppl in North. But its a title which has been used by Kshatriyas since 1st century AD. Kayastha n Kurmis r using in modern times n thers is Verma not Varma/Varman/Burman.

WP:TOON rollcall

[edit]

Hello Parthashome, it's been a while huh? You might remember adding your interest to work as part of the Cartoon Network Wikiproject here, since you did this there has been very little activity with few to none of the members participating or have been idle for some time and as such may be mothballing the Wikiproject as inactive. I'm going over the list for WP:TOON and need to know if you wish to still be a member. I know you mightn't have edited in some time (at least through this account) but I'll wait until 5th January 2010 to see whether or not you still wish to be a part of this or not. If you don't respond to this notice specifically by mentioning it at WT:TOON (not my talkpage or here, I won't be watchlisting talkpages) or removing your name from the list I'll assume you are no longer interested and will remove your name. Hope you decide to work here again. treelo radda 18:22, 5 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Flagicons

[edit]

Why have flagicons been added to Cartoon Network (India)? I would request you to go through WP:ICONDECORATION and remove them. --JovianEye (talk) 15:01, 4 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 11:28, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
