Assignment 6[edit]

1. Vehicular Automation- Article Title 2. The key ideas of this article is the underpinnings of what makes cars operate the different levels of autonomous driving, while mentioning the pros and cons behind the systems. 3. The main problems with autonomous driving involve the expense of the system both in incorporating it into a vehicle and maintenance of the vehicle and system. Another problem is the infrastructure. Infrastructure updates would need to be made in order to have the system work as efficiently as it possibly can. 4. I think this topic was worth undertaking because I find it very fascinating and this is the new wave of technology that will eventually be in everyone's vehicle so people deserve to know how it operates and what the whole system is about. 5. The technological standpoints are the software, cameras and lasers, and computer monitoring systems behind the autonomous driving technology. It is essential to make sure that everything is sourced correctly for the demand that will eventually come with the new wave of vehicles coming out. 6. The ethical standpoints of vehicular automation would include proper driving practices (lane keep assist, pedestrian detection, speed limit detection etc.). There is some concern that depending on the level of autonomy, it can lower the amount of driving responsibility for the driver which in turn can lead to higher chances of distracted driving. 7. Societal standpoints would be the infrastructure updates needed to sustain quality autonomous driving technology uses. 8. The audience influenced by the article would be car enthusiasts or technology enthusiasts who want to learn about the present and future technology of autonomous driving cars.
