Continental Airlines Flight 61[edit]

Just wanted you to be aware, the section you added to the Boeing 777 article under Incidents and Accidents - concerning "Continental Airlines Flight 61" of 18 June 2009 - has been removed. The Incidents and Accidents section is intended for failures of airframe or major systems, for example uncommanded engine shutdowns, avionics failure, and resulting crash landings, etc. But not the illness or sudden death of a flight crew member or passenger, apart from or unrelated to an airframe or system failure. Now if it turns out, upon further investigation, that the aircraft is proved to have somehow killed the pilot (eg: oxygen system failure in the cockpit), then it could be considered notable and then included. That said, There may be another proper location elsewhere in the Wiki for including the news event regarding the unfortunate death of a pilot during a commercial flight. Just wanted to clarify the situation for you. Thanks for your contributions. --T-dot ( Talk/contribs ) 16:56, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
