[edit]Re: this, when Nushrat Bharucha was born, in 1985, the place she was born was called Bombay. Changing it to Mumbai is revisionist history. Don't do this, please. If you want, you can clarify in her further biographical details elsewhere in the article, that Mumbai is the present-day name for the place the subject was born. Additionally, this is unsourced, this is unsourced, this birthdate is unsourced, this birthdate is unsourced and this birth year is unsourced. NONE of these edits are sufficient per Wikipedia standards. Please do not submit unsourced content, especially about sensitive information like a person's birth year. See WP:BLPPRIVACY. And since your next question will be, "what constitutes a reliable source?" see WP:RS and WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources if you don't know what Indian entertainment sources are suitable. [edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Sonam Bajwa, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Fylindfotberserk (talk) 19:18, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
Concerns over article content
[edit]I refer to the following message from a user called Cyphoidbomb, but I do not agree with their arguments. This person is apparently wrong about assumptions about a place name (birth place) which was Bombay and is now known as Mumbai. All my reliable sources refer the place as Mumbai (e.g. http://www.starsunfolded.com). I have now corrected the edit with the source name.
Secondly, the biography of the title subject "Nushrat Bharucha" had two different birth dates and I edited to the correct date from reliable sources. If the said user Cyphoidbomb had knowledge about the person, they they should have determined the right birth date instead of showing two ambiguous information.
Thirdly, the username Cyphoidbomb looks disruptive or offensive under Wikipedia's username policy and should be reviewed and banned urgently. I am amazed that not only this username was allowed to be used, but also the volunteer took advantage of becoming a master editor!

- Just to let you know, StarUnfolded is not considered a reliable source. Similar blog type sources like tellychakkar, filmibeat, wikibio, iwmmbuzz, etc are not considered reliable either. See WP:ICTF, WP:ICTFFAQ for more information on how to identify reliable sources for Indian articles. For general purpose, visit WP:RS.
- Secondly, birth place name at the time of birth is preferred as per documentation. So people write it as e.g "Bombay (present: Mumbai)"
- Thirdly, Cyphoidbomb is an admin and his username is not in violation of anything. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 12:28, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
- @Peramanvarill:
- Please sign your posts with four tildes ~~~~. This will append a proper signature, which contains links to your user and talk pages.
- You might have better luck discussing article-related content on the appropriate article's talk page. It was only by chance that Fylindfotbrerserk saw the message you posted on your own talk page, I would assume.
- Per the instructions at Template:Infobox person for the
|birth_place=
parameter,"Use the name of the birthplace at the time of birth, e.g.: Saigon (prior to 1976) or Ho Chi Minh City (post-1976)."
If, at the time the subject was born, the birthplace was called "Bombay", then that's what we use. There should be no dispute about this, as the instructions represent community consensus. So your resubmission of this content would be considered disruptive and I would strongly recommend that you revert those changes. - I also suggest you familiarise yourself with the infobox instructions if you plan to edit articles, and I also advise you to very quickly get up to speed on our reliable sourcing guidelines, because you're going to continue to have needless conflicts if you are referring to poor sources like starsunfolded.com. See WP:ICTF#Guidelines on sources for an incomplete list of good and bad sites. And no, if starsunfolded.com is not on that list it doesn't mean that you can use it. There is a certain sense that editors develop as they edit, that helps them to identify proper sources. Faceless entities run by unknown people are typically not accepted, nor are sites that look like they're just indiscriminately aggregating content from other sources, which is what starsunfolded.com looks like to me.
- Generally speaking, if you are new somewhere, particularly to some sort of community activity like having dinner in a different country, or just editing at Wikipedia, it might be wise to sit back and learn the customs, rather than bowling ahead and asserting dominance in an area you know nothing about. If you are editing out of conformity with community expectations, your edits will be considered disruptive, which I am sure is not your goal.

Concerns over article content
[edit]Further to my earlier message, I would like to inform volunteers as follows:
Nushrat Bharucha who was born on 17 May 1985 had birth place shown as Bombay, Maharashtra, India rather than the current and correct name of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India.
Another subject, Jennifer Winget who was born on 30 May 1985 (13 days later) had birth place shown correctly as Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (with Goregaon as suburb) when it was Bombay, Maharashtra, India at the time of her birth.
Peramanvarill (talk) 18:58, 13 February 2020 (GMT)
- I fixed the Jennifer Winget page so that it reflected Bombay, as it should. Thanks for the tip. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:48, 14 February 2020 (UTC)
