- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! --Demiurge1000 (talk) 11:51, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Hi, I see that you added information about Eliza Aria, but you did not cite it to a WP:Reliable source. You need to WP:CITE a source when you add new information to the encyclopedia. Please click on these blue links for more information. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:08, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. I'm sorry that you have found the process here rather impersonal, but I think you are getting the hang of it. The most important thing is to give sources for everything you add to the encyclopedia. For example, you cited me to "My Sentimental Self", which is very useful because it is online here, so everyone can easily see it for themselves. I have now added information about Eliza Davis Aria to the Owen Hall article. You should understand that we cannot simply take people's word for things - the only way to make sure that the information in the encyclopedia is reliable is to check published sources. I hope you stick with the encyclopedia. If you read some of the policy pages linked to in the Welcome message above, I think you will see that there is method to our madness, and you may enjoy contributing. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 15:08, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
