Speedy deletion contested: EastEnders the video game

Hello Peridon. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of EastEnders the video game, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not blatantly vandalism or a hoax. Thank you. Theleftorium 23:12, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Speedy Deletion: Notifying authors

Hi Peridon. User:WereSpielChequers has already noted (above, on 17 Dec), that you don't seem to be informing the authors of the articles that you tag for speedy deletion. You tagged the article Patrick Fuster at 00.48 10 Jan but no notice appeared on the author's talkpage - User talk:Dtf4nd - although you continued to edit for a while afterwards. It is vitally important that we constructively welcome new users by helping them understand and rectify any problems with their edits: for them to find their first effort has been speedily deleted without the courtesy of being directly informed it was under such consideration could put them off continuing altogether. Please take care to always inform authors by copy and pasting the tag - and, for newbies, consider adding a friendly note, like directing them to the appropriate article-writing guidelines, for eg. Speedy Deletion: Why was my page deleted - and w/out notice?

Hello Peridon - I recently created my first wiki article complete with more than 30 references and as many external links. I logged in this morning add additional information to the page and was greeted with a page indicating that it had been deleted via Speedy Deletion per your action. I am disappointed that I did not receive notice of this - and was not given a chance to defend my article. The reason stated on the page for deletion was:

A tag has been placed on Gunnar Peterson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article,
which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not
indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the
criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time

I cited many sources indicating how this person is notable. Arguably credible media outlets such as CNN and Sports Illustrated assert that he is "the" expert in his industry. I also followed a similar (albeit mine more thoroughly written) format used on other current wiki pages for same industry professionals - i.e.:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jillian_Michaels_(personal_trainer)

I see where another administrator re-tagged the page to drop the parenthesis industry clarification. But after their edit - you used Speedy Deletion. Is this in error? My original page location is at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gunnar_Peterson_(Personal_Trainer,_Fitness_Expert) I am eager to learn wiki best practices - and have MANY references if there is simply a question or concern about the content I have included.

Please advise, as I am anxious to begin other articles - but do not want to repeat a mistake if I am in error and continue to have articles deleted.

Thank you in advance for your time and guidance. Best!

Re: Virtual Barnstar

Re your message: Thanks. =) Patience is a virtue as it has been said. Though I am a bit confused over the context of the patience. I'm not exactly sure which situation you are referring to. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 23:51, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

Re your message: Ah, okay. I do get a lot of complaints from people when I delete their articles about their brand new band that has yet to release anything, but absolutely must be on Wikipedia. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 00:01, 23 January 2010 (UTC)

Archives

Hello Peridon. I notice that you set up MiszaBot archiving recently. You might be interested in adding an {{archives}} template to this page, to show people how to find your archives. That template is explained at User:MiszaBot/Archive HowTo#After you have set up archiving. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 04:15, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Church of Reality Article

Hi Peridon,

Since Church of Reality members as I understand it aren't allowed to edit the article itself and you said you did some 6000 articles, the CoR article itself needs a lot of work. Would you be interested in editing it? (assuming it's not deleted) --Marcperkel (talk) 12:23, 26 January 2010 (UTC)

Basques in Russia and the USSR

There are several. During the Spanish Civil War 3000 Spanish kids got evacuated to the Soviet Union, many of them were Basques, a lot of them stayed in the USSR. For example one famous Soviet hockey player's mom is Basque. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ShowMaster17 (talkcontribs) 22:41, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
