Keeping it simple

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia. The thing is, the encyclopedia is for a general readership. Articles are written to explain, briefly, clearly, and in plain English, the basics of many topics. Evolutionary developmental biology is certainly a very complex topic, but we don't further the ordinary reader's understanding by speaking in language like "beta-catenin dependent endomesoderm specification". 99.9% of Wikipedia readers will simply say "what?" and go elsewhere (disappointed) for a comprehensible introduction. I'm sorry, but there it is. A few readers will feel able to follow up citations and read the original journal articles, where things can be as technical as anyone pleases. Many thanks for your feedback. I can thus make efforts to simplify the message and increase a bit the size of the desciption in order to let more space for a better understanding.
