World map

Hi again Pitlane02,

Would you mind taking a look at this world map, please?

It's supposed to show current host nations in green, and venue locations as black dots. That part is fine, but it's also supposed to show former host nations in pink, and former venue locations in white. Now, I don't know about you, but I'm colour-blind, and it's bloody near impossible to make out the former host nations, since they're pink and non-host nations are grey.

I think that either the pink should be a much darker colour, like red or dark. But since the image is primarily used in a season article to highlight current host nations and venues, I don't think that it would have much effect if it was just current nations in green, current venues in black, and no mention of former host nations or venues. Hi Pitlane02,

I noticed that you recently uploaded a track map for the Baku Street Circuit, and since your name is given as the creator of that image, I was hoping that you could take a look at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. The circuit layout is changing for the Mexican Grand Prix, but nobody at the F1 WikiProject has the skills to create new images. Would you mind trying to make an image to reflect the new layout, please? Prisonermonkeys (talk) 02:19, 15 March 2015 (UTC)

It was a pleasure. I've found a nice drafting on the tilke homepage, so it should detailed enough. Regards --Pitlane02 🏁talk 10:53, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Thank you so much. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 05:35, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
Everytime welcome! I'm working for nearly 5 years in the German motorsport team, why not sharing the skills more?! ;-) I've only a small disadvantage, I'm not a native and my English is not so well. Regards --Pitlane02 🏁talk 07:54, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
Would it be possible to rotate the map to the same angle as the map of the old layout? It's really, really confusing to have two maps of the circuit in nearly exact opposite rotation. Tvx1 21:17, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
All my maps are oriented to North, and it's no problem to create refreshed maps of all track versions. What's your opinion? regards --Pitlane02 🏁talk 21:50, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
If anything, I think the old map should be rotated to match this one. The old one here is just about the only one I can find that is oriented the way it is and it'd be easier if that one was rotated (or even remade) to orient North. Twirlypen (talk) 02:40, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
Tvx1, Prisonermonkeys, please see my recent update to the article in which I switched the 1992 layout picture to an older version of the file. Twirlypen (talk) 03:17, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
Which article? Tvx1 08:50, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
2015 season. Twirlypen (talk) 08:52, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
That's arguably better. Your map is not oriented the same way as the map of the new layout (i.e. to the north). IMHO, I think it's best they are both oriented the exact same way. Additionally, I think the map of the old layout should be included in Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez and Mexican Grand Prix, which is not currently the case. Tvx1 11:31, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
Now the different versions are also ready. So you have a chance to build in the old comparison again, regards --Pitlane02 🏁talk 13:33, 23 March 2015 (UTC)

Track maps 2

I have a silly question — how big a job do you think it would be to standardise the format of circuit diagrams? There are several variations out there; the Melbourne, Sepang, Abu Dhabi and Mexico City diagrams are all in different formats. Would it be possible to make the format consistent, like the Mexico City map? Prisonermonkeys (talk) 10:22, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
Sorry, my greatest concern is a millstone around my neck, because I've to work too and have also a great responsibility in my motorsport club. So I can't made any promises. But I'll try, ok? regards --Pitlane02 🏁talk 12:20, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
That's okay. I don't expect you to put your life on hold for it. I have been trying to garner support for it for a while now, but you're the only person that I know if who can produce high-quality graphics. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 22:50, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
