Bureocrat, or however it is spelled[edit]

Dear Nick: Hi! Your answer brought me a wide smile. I'd like to answer you further, but right now I have to write about Laura Daniela Lloreda, and in eight hours, I have a press conference to attend so I need some sleep.

I just wanted to say thanks for your kind words and God bless you!

Later on, I will put the full text about how your comments made me feel.

Oh, Im honored to open your 8th talk page!

Thanks and God bless you!

Sincerely yours, "Antonio Let the star guide you Martin"

Do Me A Favor[edit]

Hey Comrade, how you doing? I got you in my favorite people list. I want you take a look at Vanesa Littlecrow. Someone wrote that it is POV. I think that the person is referring to the phrase "multitalented". When I wrote that phrase I was referring to the fact that she has more then one talent. Take a look at the talk page and tell me what you think. I respect your opinion.

I don't understand your comments on my talk page. I have never been on the IRC-- not today or not ever. As far as I know, I don't even have the software to be able to log on to IRC. 172 20:23, 14 Nov 2004 (UTC)

I did not get an email from you. Try sending it again to Thanks. 172 04:09, 15 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for your supportive vote of my bureaucratship. Unfortunately, the vote was judged to be too close, but I hope you'll support me when I run again. :) Andre (talk) 15:52, Nov 16, 2004 (UTC)

Sure thing. Thanks for your support. Andre (talk) 18:56, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the email. By the way, what happened to Gustav? I miss him. 172 00:36, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Arbitration Elections[edit]

You may remember that I coordinated the previous two elections, for the board, and for the arbitration committee. I am willing to coordinate this election as well, and have asked Elian to assist. However, we would like to have the support of the candidates to do this. Do you support us coordinating the election? My policy is to be entirely neutral, and to ensure this, I will not be voting myself (I didn't vote in previous elections either). All results will be announced following the final count. Please answer on my talk page. Danny 01:11, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Could you explain how you would handle the Shorne case?[edit]

The L** case you refer to is a little too cut-and-dried to provide insight into how you would conduct yourself on the arbitration committee.

Also, your platform page and candidate statement are somewhat self-contradictory, in that you simulataneously have a bit of a "get tough" position in stating your firmness on the three-revert-rule and getting tough on "trolls", while in your candidate statement you also say that you can "work with all kinds of people", and in your platform you state that you want to "make the Arb-Com a friendly atmosphere".

I understand what you mean. What I am saying is that I believe in the Carrot and Stick when dealing with Trolls. You see if a Troll has some chance of reform I think it should the policy of the Arb-Com to give them a carrot (In other words if they repent and they show good faith the Arb-com should try to respect them). A good example of this carrot policy would be toward Mike (although he was a vandal).

So, I'm not sure whether to vote for you just yet.

I understand

How about the arbitration case involving Shorne? Do you agree or disagree that his actions warrant blocks or a ban?

I'm not that familiar with that case, however I have seen him editing wikipedia, Shorne is more of an edit warrior not a troll.

According to Shorne's userpage: the arbitration committee imposed a broad "temporary" injunction that prevents me from editing articles on almost any political topic.

This I agree with; injuncations are good idea especially in case of edit warriors such as he.

For example, would you have blocked Shorne from editing communism-related articles for the length of the arbitration proceedings?

I think he should be blocked from editing communism related topics because that's the main area, he's edit-warring, also Parole would be a good idea for him as well.

If the other arbitrators were discussing whether to ban him for a few months, how would you respond?

No, even Wik who was major edit warrior got only a week ban, I think a good punishment would be week ban. A block from editing communism related topics for up to 9 months, also Parole.

If he continues to be a problem hard ban him simple as that

A case that is not so cut-and-dried can reveal a lot about the character of the individuals who are given authority to make decisions about such a case.

You state that you are "one of us", so I'm curious to see if you would rule any differently than the current committee.

Since you are not on the Arbitration Committee, you can offer your opinion without affecting the fairness of those proceedings.

Thanks for running for election. I appreciate having more choices from which to choose.

Your Welcome.

Heh, I've been wondering when sbd from the wiki would find my journal. Been a while since I wrote ath there, though. Thank you for the comment! Hopefully next time will turn out better. --ᓛᖁ♀ 01:53, 30 Nov 2004 (UTC)

A Request[edit]

Over at Culture of the United Kingdom one of the main things that is stopping us from putting it forward as a featured article candidate is the fact that the art section is so small (one small paragraph). You have listed yourself on Wikipedia:List of Wikipedians by fields of interest as someone with an interest in art. Would you be able to pop over there at some point and help us to expand the section please? Many thanks. -- Graham ☺ | Talk 11:57, 1 Dec 2004 (UTC)

A Message to my Fellow Candidate[edit]

The Arbitration Committee elections are almost here. I humbly ask for your vote in this election cycle. I have been a user of Wikipedia for over a year. I was here before the Community Portal, categories, or stub. I know how Wikipedia operates, and I am prepared to do my part to deal with problematic accounts. I wish to cut out the bureaucracy that makes our website stagnate. We need solutions to our problems now. If you want an arbitrator who believes in action, frankness, honesty, and fairness in every case, I am your arbitrator. Thank you for your time. You are under no obligation to answer this message.

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
