I believe a rape did in fact happen. I was not at Duke's party so I do not actually know. Neither do you. Based on what I DO know, there was under-aged drinking and drug use at the 10-hour drunken party. Based on the facts admitted to by several of Duke's players, racist insults and abuse occurred.

You will not use this woman's name to further the abuse done to her or to my community.

VANCE HOLMES

Sorry Vance, but Crystal Gail Mangum created her own problems that evening ... the only abuse that took place was done BY her, not TO her. Cheers. Duke53 | Talk 23:20, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You should be aware of some facts concerning the Duke_University_students_rape_accusation_case; Crystal Gail Mangum was in no way or shape a victim. She lied about those three white boys and the events that took place that evening. The District Attorney (Michael Nifong) chose to use her allegations to gain the votes of black voters in Durham, in an attempt to win an election. No rape occurred in that house by those boys. Hi, please be aware that removal of the name of the accuser from the article is not appropriate. If you want to propose its removal, please do so on the article talk page.--Wehwalt (talk) 18:24, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 18:31, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a short time for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 18:46, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, so do you mind discussing any changes you would like to see, on the article talk page? Edit warring won't get you results here.--Wehwalt (talk) 18:50, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Duke case[edit]

As Daniel Patrick Moynihan used to say, everybody is entitled to their own opinion, but not their own facts. As I wrote yesterday, the addition of verifiable information to the article is welcome, but efforts to sanitize or editorialize are not. When your block is over, please discuss any major changes at Talk:Duke University students rape accusation case. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 18:53, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Elizabeth Ratliff[edit]

The article Elizabeth Ratliff has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable biography, fully covered at Michael Peterson (murder suspect)#Suspicion surrounding Elizabeth Ratliff's death

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kathleen Peterson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
