Friendly warning for new editor

[edit]

Hi, welcome. Please note, when you make an edit, the "minor" box is for things like fixing typos and other minor things that do not alter the meaning of the text. All but one of your edits is marked "minor" but many are not really minor. For example, [adding a whole subsection] is definitely not minor. In addition, please take time to read about reliable sources. The source you based that subsection on does not qualify. NewsAndEventsGuy (talk) 19:56, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Second that; with an example. If I spelled Hello wrong, and then changed it, I could mark the correction as "minor".[1] Not the original post. KillerChihuahua?!? 19:58, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Smart meters

[edit]

Why would anyone think a smart meter is a surge protector? --Wtshymanski (talk) 21:37, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Some discussion would be helpful. --Wtshymanski (talk) 21:49, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Your recent edits seem to have the appearance of edit warring. Users are expected to collaborate and discuss with others and avoid editing disruptively.

Please be particularly aware, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Falcon8765 (TALK) 21:49, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours for your disruption caused by edit warring by violation of the three-revert rule at Smart meter. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's no original research policy by adding your personal analysis or synthesis into articles, as you did at Voltage spike, you may be blocked from editing. Seems to me you have an WP:AGENDA. This is the wrong place for one of those. Srobak (talk) 23:46, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
