Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Prof Yuan, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

- Hi McSly,
- Thanks for your message, and I DO understand the concerns about conflicts of interest. Yes, I am responsible for the research and development of Rubato DB, and my deleted modification of NewSQL is about Rubato DB. I am asking you to proof read and reconsider my updates of NewSQL for the following reasons.
- First, my updates consists of three items: (1) a new reference [SIGMOD2015] to RubatoDB at the end of the first paragraph; (2) one sentence regarding Rubato DB in the part of History with another new reference [CIKM2014] to Rubato DB; and (3) one item, Rubato DB, in the list of NewSQL databases.
- Note that Rubato DB is an academic database developed at University of Alberta, and it is one of the only two NewSQL systems (the other one is VoltDB) with its technoligies published in the major database conferences, and discussed by many research papers. Further, both new references, [SIGMOD2015] and [CIKM2014] are published at the very top database conferences with the acceptence rate around 15%. A recently article, "Highly Scalable Distributed Archtecture for NoSQL datastore Suppporting Strong Consistency" published at IEEE Access May 14, 2021, states that Rubato DB is one of the most promissiong system (amont NewSQLQ systems).
- Therefore, I DO believe that the reference to Rubato DB is justified and necessary, as it is one of the major NewSQL systems under the research and development.
- Let me know if it is a good idea to change my user name from Prof Yuan to a more newtral name.

- Hello Prof Yuan,
- I am another volunteer editor lending my opinion. The welcome message you got above is a boilerplate welcome message ({{welcome-coi}}) for editors with an apparent conflict of interest. Even though it includes lines about an account's username, I don't believe anyone has any specific concerns about your username. I think you should be fine to continue under your current name.
- While we welcome the knowledge and experience of subject-matter experts, writing on Wikipedia is not the same as in an academic setting. The essay entitled Wikipedia:Expert editors has additional guidance for subject experts, which you might find useful.
- The proper place for you to discuss changes to an article where you have a conflict of interest is on it's associated talk page - in this case, Talk:NewSQL. There you can make an edit request which can be reviewed and discussed by uninvolved editors. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 06:14, 27 December 2022 (UTC)
- McSlyHi Drm310,
- Thanks for the reply, and I will keep my user name.
- Based on your suggestion, I have submitted an edit request to add Rubato DB to the list of NewSQL databases. I did not add my argument since I cannot not find an appropriate place in the templte. Let me know if it is necessary.
- Please note that my argument for adding my own system is presented in my first reply to McSly (above).
