User talk:Puddleg
Mr. Henderson,
Thank you for your edit of this list. You may notice, however, that I unfortunately had to revert it, and I wanted to explain why. There are a few reasons. First of all, I direct you to the list's talk page, which explain the "criteria for inclusion". The talk page also explains how we came to that criteria, one of them being that the subject needs to have a Wikipedia article about him. Unfortunately, you do not. The second reason I reverted your edit was that the source you provided wasn't reliable enough. For that, I direct you to WP:RS, which describes the difference between reliable and unreliable sources, especially in biographies.
Wikipedia has strict policies about biographies of living persons. For that I direct you here: WP:BLP. As the policy explains, there are good reasons for that, including protection of the living persons involved. As the main editor of this list, I've been especially meticulous about following this policy because of the topic's touching subject, hepatitis C. I wanted to make sure you understood that. I have to say, I was surprised that a victim of the disease would be willing to include himself in it. I commend you for your bravery and openness. One of the blessings of editing this list is my minor involvement with the hep-C community, specifically, my friendship with User:PeachStatePam, a hep-C advocate who has helped me with this list.
Everytime I add someone new to this list, I have some pangs of regret, since I know that every person included has suffered greatly. I would much rather not add you for that reason. In order for you to be included, though, there needs to be a WP article written about either you or your band. I've done that before, for other items in this list, and after a short google-search, there are enough reliable sources about you. I may end up doing that, but please understand that unlike the stereotype of WP editors and internet geeks, I'm pretty busy IRL (plus, I'm a girl!). In addition, I have other WP irons in the fire that take precedence. I recommend that you not write an article about yourself, since that's against WP policy as well. (See WP:AB.) If you were to do the research yourself, and place it on my talk page, that would help me save some time.
Again, thanks for your contribution, and I hope I haven't offended you in any way. Good luck.--Christine (talk) 23:16, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
Mr. Henderson, I respectfully reverted your edit again. Please don't take it as disrespect, but your changes still don't satisfy the criteria for inclusion into this list. Please be patient with me as I think about how I can create a new article for you. --Christine (talk) 23:19, 7 November 2009 (UTC)
