Daykin, Nebraska

I'm afraid that I've had to revert one of your recent edits to Daykin, Nebraska. Your edit, which was apparently based on your own genealogical research, violates one of Wikipedia's core policies, viz., Wikipedia:No original research. I'd urge you to follow the link and read up on the policy; but the essence of it is that all content has to be attributable to reliable published sources.

I also question the relevance of the edit—a brief account of the doings of the descendants of Daykin's founder, which took place well away from Nebraska. This seems like a very tangential addition to an article about the Nebraska town, especially since I get the impression that neither of the descendants described seems to have attained notability in the Wikipedia sense. A list of George Pickett's descendants would be out of place in the Pickett's Charge article; likewise, John Daykin's genealogy isn't at all relevant to an article about the town he founded.

Sorry to find myself reverting your edit. It's no reflection on the quality of your genealogical research; only a recognition that including it in the article is contrary to Wikipolicy, and getting away from the subject of the article as well. — Ammodramus (talk) 14:24, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
