I was not vandalising the article. I am not sure what sources to post about sorbet not being a dairy product. Many confuse sorbet with a genuine dairy dessert, sherbet, so I assumed that is what the author had meant to put. You can visit the wikipedia page about sorbet to see that it does not typically include milk. I believe the word sherbet would be correct in the article. I am sorry if this was mistaken for vandalism. Rachaella (talk) 01:38, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
apologies, the only type of sherbet I am familiar with is Sherbet (powder), I will revert my revert, however next time specify details like that in your edit summary to avoid misunderstandings like this --UltraMagnusspeak 11:49, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
No problem. After doing some more research I realized that "sherbet" in the light frozen dairy dessert form is pretty much just an American thing. I am wondering now if the word should be deleted altogether, since depending on the source/area sorbet falls under the category of sherbet, or the other way around. Either way, in most places it is not usually a dairy product. I just wish I could have access to the journal article that discusses the specific dairy products mentioned in the study. So I apologise if I seemed defensive, it is just that I am deathly allergic to dairy, and where I live people were always trying to give me sherbet, which would kill me. Sorbet was the first frozen ice cream-like dessert I was able to eat. When I made the change I didn't realize this was a region-specific thing, or I would have explained Rachaella (talk) 03:05, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
