ANI Notice[edit]

Hello. There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. Man of Meat (talk) 17:19, 29 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Maldives[edit]

I've been trying to get some discussion on the content dispute on Maldives going on Talk:Maldives and I'd like to hear your point of view, especially after you just undid my edit. I explained my edit on the talk page there and I saw the rationale you gave for undoing it; I still don't think the source is reliable but I would at least like to hear your side. January 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm Shadowjams. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Dhives Akuru, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks, Shadowjams (talk) 08:18, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

What source are you talking about?--Raptor232 (talk) 08:23, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Don't revert without discussing the issue on talk page.--Raptor232 (talk) 08:24, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You've been edit warring on that page for a while now... I'm hardly the first person to undo you on that edit. Perhaps you should look at the talk page. Shadowjams (talk) 08:37, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
What was unsourced?--Raptor232 (talk) 08:41, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Nothing you changed was sourced. And you are changing something that at least 4 people have undone. Shadowjams (talk) 08:48, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You are now edit warring the page, there is no 4 people undoing the page, only a vandalism have brought the changes.

As i said discuss it on the talk page if you're undoing--Raptor232 (talk) 08:52, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Raptor232, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Darkness Shines (talk) 12:03, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It is not copy paste or unsourced the article is on it's headline, it was vandalised before.--Raptor232 (talk) 12:06, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Bullshit, Dhivehi Writing Systems was a redirect until you did this today[1] and that is copypasted from Maldivian writing systems. You are creating content forks and violating copyright policy. So stop now. Darkness Shines (talk) 12:10, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Darkness Shines. I noticed that you made a comment on the page User talk:Darkness Shines that didn't seem very civil, so it has been removed. Wikipedia needs people like you and me to collaborate, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Darkness Shines (talk) 12:15, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked[edit]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for several reasons: Repeated copyright violations, repeated personal attacks and edit warring.. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. GedUK  12:45, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
After reviewing your edits and behaviour in interaction with other users, I have upped this block to indefinite. Lectonar (talk) 13:16, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
