Of course, I fully undestand the purpose of referencing and citation conventions, but an author and an editor have to exercise good judgement and discretion as to when it is needed. This is not research data, or an academic or professional opinion. It is not a quotation. It is not contentious, personal or likely to cause offence. It is not mischievous or provocative. It is up to date (unlike what is on the site at present). It is a mere statement of trivial facts which are already in the public domain. You are taking it too far, and as a result the page is out of date.

Are you referring to me adding the undeniable fact that Gary Brabin is the new manager? This is an absolute fact in the public domain and does not need a source to be cited, any more than I would need to source that the Prime Minister is David Cameron. When I create or add to an article I always cite my source - when it is necessary.
