Hi! I've noticed that most of your edits consist of linking to book reviews. May I please ask you not to post such links in the future as they will be removed. I'm sure your intentions are good, but Wikipedia is not to be used as an advertising tool. JdeJ (talk) 20:02, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
- Hi and thanks for your answer. To be honest, I agree with you. I had a look at some of the links to reviews you had posted and I found them all to be interesting and well-written. Unfortunately, it's possible that it violates Wikipedia's rules against links with commercial content, but a book review is very much a grey zone. As long as they are relevant (as these reviews all were) I won't mind it in the future, although some other editors may disagree. Anyway, all the best! JdeJ (talk) 07:25, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
To the extent that links to book reviews are appropriate, it would be in an article on a particular work, not in an article on an author, or (worse yet) in a listing of their works. (Thus, I've reverted your recent edit to Doris Lessing.) --Orange Mike | Talk 15:41, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
In contrast, your TLS article on Earth was very apposite. I have linked the author and publication to their Wikipedia articles, using piped links. All the best. --Old Moonraker (talk) 15:46, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Michael Billington
[edit]Also appreciated your TLS link for Billington's book, which I'm sure will be reinstated soon. --Old Moonraker (talk) 15:26, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Bluntly, it appears that the sole purpose of your account is to add links to articles in the TLS, leading one to suspect some kind of conflict of interest. This is spamming, and will not be tolerated. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:26, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Fair enough, Orangemike. I was not aware that this sort of linking was classified as spamming, and I shall forthwith desist.
