Looking for feedback

[edit]

I'm trying to create a page for HealthLink BC but am not having much success with it. I've posted the content on my user page and would appreciate some feedback about what is needed before I post as its own page. Thanks.

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Riggs77, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages: user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for businesses.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Peridon (talk) 21:27, 21 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unseen

[edit]

In response to your query at my talk page: Basically, no. Anything here can be seen. You can put stuff on subpages, but they're not hidden. They tend to be left alone, unless they are spam, attack or copyright violation, but are readable to the public. I'd suggest drawing up your page in private on your own computer, and then comparing your effort with other articles. Collect your references. If you can't find independent reliable references to establish , there's not much point publishing. This excludes blogs, forums, aboutus, LinkedIn and so on, and rather obviously, company sites. These last can be used for more info, but not to establish notability. (And do not say 'For more info go to...' - that screams 'SPAM!!!'.) Read WP:GNG, and look at other articles again. Look at their refs (and check there isn't a tag about refs at the top - some older articles need work doing as standards are higher now in this area). Make sure you aren't using text from somewhere else. When you are sure you've got it right, create a subpage by typing User:Rthexton/whateveryouwanttocallit on your userpage, saving, and then clicking the new red link. Put a message at the top to say it's a draft awaiting checking and let me know. I can't give a divine approval, but I can say that it looks OK, or to go back to the drawing board. Best thing: post your refs on my page so I can check them first. That's most likely to be the stumbling block. Do that before the subpage. (Remind me what they're there for, please. I get rather busy at times both here and elsewhere.) Good luck. Peridon (talk) 09:35, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
