Robert Lew article
[edit]There is no obligation to submit articles to AFC, so I moved this page back to your user space. It is now at User:Rlew234/Robert Lew. The reviewers at AFC are self-appointed volunteers (like most people on Wikipedia) and don't necessarily have the knowledge needed for reviewing any given submission.
On the other hand, anything looking even vaguely autobiographical will look suspicious to many Wikipedia contributors, and someone will quite likely nominate it for deletion, quite possibly in a disparaging tone. (Sorry, but this is the way things are. As I said, almost everyone on Wikipedia is self-appointed, for better or for worse.) So I suggest that you still submit it for an informal review by one or several other users, but you need to find reviewers who know something about the general subject area. You could ask around at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Poland, Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Linguistics and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Academic Journals. --Hegvald (talk) 16:21, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Many thanks for all the pointers, Hegvald! Rlew234 (talk) 07:55, 14 September 2011 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Rlew234/Robert Lew
[edit]A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Rlew234/Robert Lew, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. - It is true that the flagged page is about me, however, last I checked Wikipedia had a rule that Editors-in-Chief of major academic journals, which I now have been since 2017 (see here), are automatically eligible for Wikipedia articles.
- Unfortunately I couldn't update this information as my ISP's IP pool seems to be currently blocked.
- I don't wish to publish the page and would be happy if someone published at least a stub, but do not know how to go about it. Rlew234 (talk) 07:52, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
