Pre-season/friendly stats

Hello. First, what is the MOS? I've never heard of this. You yourself say that it is indeed nice to mention, why don't you just leave it there, is it so bad that it is there? These statistics are just part of the season so worth mentioning I think. And it has never been removed from previous FC Utrecht season pages. SapCal9719 (talk) 17:02, 17 August 2022 (UTC)

Hi SapCal - I am actually pretty sure that I removed them at some point from the 2021-22 season so if they were added back in, these stats should be taken out. The MOS are the guidelines we follow when creating and updating articles. You can find a link to the club season article MOS here: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Football/Club_seasons. Pre-season and friendly stats are inconsequential, are not counted towards any player's season or career stats and therefore, in my humble opinion, add no encyclopaedic value. And this is probably why you've never seen it in any other player or club article on wikipedia. Feel free to raise in wikiproject football talk page though if you feel so inclined. All my best. Hi Rupert - That's right, in between the 2021-22 season you did indeed delete this data. However, then you had only removed it from the infobox and not from the page like now. I kept it tidy then and now I don't put it in the info box anymore. Thanks for the explanation about the MOS. I agree with you that it's not important for a player's career, this is indeed not tracked. But this is not kept with a specific player but only in a table nowhere else. It is interesting for a season page to list the goal scorers of exhibition matches separately on the page? All my best. SapCal9719 (talk) 17:21, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
Hi SapCal - I suggest raising it in the WikiProject Football talk page if you feel strongly enough that pre-season stats should be included in a club season article. Others might agree with you that there is value in adding them. Rupert1904 (talk) 18:16, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
Hi Rupert - Thank you for this tip. I just added it in the WikiProject Football talk page. Now let's see what others thinks about it. SapCal9719 (talk) 17:48, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
