Re: Adoption

[edit]

Well, I'd gladly adopt you, but which brand do you represent and how do you want to change it?

Thank you very much!

I will look to you for counsel on the best way to go about updating the page.

I represent Chicken Soup for the Soul and want to edit the page to reflect:

I. Several factual errors:

- There are over 200 books in the series (full list here: http://www.chickensoup.com/cs.asp?cid=titles) - The books were published by HCI between 1993 - 2008, but Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen solid a major stake in the company in 2008 and the new ownership group now publishes the books themselves and has Simon & Schuster handling distribution (http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/print/20090202/11989-serving-up-a-new-chicken-soup-.html) - The current publisher is Chicken Soup for the Soul Publishing, LLC (http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/print/20090202/11989-serving-up-a-new-chicken-soup-.html)

II. Incomplete or dated information

- The company has numerous new licensing partners that aren't featured on the current description (here is a full list: http://www.chickensoup.com/cs.asp?cid=licensed_products) - I would like to provide external links to the official Facebook page (http://facebook.com/chickensoupforthesoul) and Twitter account (http://twitter.com/chickensoupsoul)

What to you suggest regarding the best way to make these changes?

Thank you for your guidance!

  • Well, to edit a page, you click the button on top of the page which says "Edit This Page". That should take you to a page with an editor on it. Now find the information thats incorrect, and replace it with the current information. To put a link on the page, you paste the link to where you want to put it and you put brackets on the ends, like this. [http://www.chickensoup.com/cs.asp?cid=titles]. I would also suggest that you do not include the Facebook and twitter links, as they do not generally provide to type of encyclopedic information that a website would. Mainly because they are mostly used for promotional purposes.
