Indian Pye Dog[edit]

Does the Indian Pye dog deserve its own article, separate from the Kennel Club group "primitive and parriah"? That article is confusing because it has two referents. Chrisrus (talk) 05:23, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes Chrisrus, We feel it does, Our idea is to educate people about the breed, just as the Carolina Dog, the Canaan Dog etc have their own article (Ryan.virgo (talk) 05:42, 29 October 2010 (UTC)).[reply]

Yes. Several interesting studies have been made. It's important to know how these "primitive" dogs are related. It helps us to understand the prehistory of the dog. Chrisrus (talk) 05:51, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page cleanup[edit]

Recently some text had been copied from our INDog website indog.co.in into the Introduction of this page. It was added by an animal rescuer from Bangalore. She informed my associate Rajashree Khalap after making the change. She also added a photo of a Bangalore street dog. I have discussed this with our INDog Project team of Rajashree, Aditya Panda and myself. We don't approve of so much of our text being copied into the Wikipedia page. It affects the credibility of the Wiki page to have so much information from only one source, and it affects our Project's credibility too. So I've removed the added text, retaining only the line about Dr Savolainen's theory about Chinese origin of the Indian Pariah.

We feel that the Bangalore street dog photo is not typical of INDogs (quite stocky and broader skull than the typical INDog). Moreover in this sitting position one can't see its build or height. We also noticed that the photo is watermarked, which we thought was uacceptable toWikipedia. I would recommend that you remove this picture.
