Help me!

[edit]

{{help me}}

Please help me with... formatting the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poyntonophrynus, I cannot get the "article stub" below the reference list.

Ryanvanhuyssteen (talk) 19:40, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Ryan. You did not add {{reflist}} in the references sections to tell the software where to display the sources. Until recently, this would have just resulted in an error and no display, but they now made it so the error will result in a display, but it is hard coded to the bottom. I've also done a copyedit. Please see WP:OVERLINKING for why I unlinked Africa, but the same page will tell you why I linked genus. I think tarsal should probably be linked as well but I was unsure if it should lead to tarsus (skeleton) or tarsus (eyelids) (it would be a piped link, btw, e.g. [[tarsus (skeleton)|tarsal]]). Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 19:53, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
p.s., I've reformatted the book citation for better attribution. It really needs a page number. I left that section blanked (the part that says "|page=") in the citation markup, with a note (which only displays in edit mode). You can simply replace that text with the page number (make sure you replace the markup that causes the text to be hidden except when editing; it looks like this: <!-- (hidden text) -->. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 20:16, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Thanks for your help. I wont forget the ref list in future. Ryanvanhuyssteen (talk) 20:03, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Anytime! Always glad to help people trying to add real content (instead of yet another article on pokémon). Open offer: if you ever need any help, please feel free to stop by my talk page directly.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 20:28, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Tarsal

[edit]

FYI: The tarsal fold refers to "a fold of skin that extends along the tarsus from the tibiotarsal articulation (ankle) to the base of the toes".

Amphibians

[edit]

Thanks for the Poyntonophrynus fenoulheti article and picture! Notice however that there already exists an article named Bufo fenoulheti. This is symptomatic — many bufonid species articles continue to be under their pre-2006 names. In general, species coverage of amphibians described before about 2006 is quite complete in Wikipedia, but many articles still use the old names (any help cleaning this mess is appreciated!). So before creating a new article for an "old" amphibian, it is worth checking whether it might already exist under some older name. Micromesistius (talk) 09:43, 1 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A page you started (Taurhina splendens) has been reviewed!

[edit]

Thanks for creating Taurhina splendens, Ryanvanhuyssteen!

Wikipedia editor Animalparty just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

Please do not create articles with no written content. Also note that thumbnail format is not the correct way to add images to taxoboxes: it results in needless white space and extraneous boxes. Cheers.

Information icon Hello, I'm Sumanuil. Thank you for your recent contributions to Trimeresurus malcolmi. I noticed that you added an image to the article's infobox as a thumbnail. In future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox, as this is against the Manual of Style. When adding an image, supply only the filename to the |image= parameter and the caption to the |caption= parameter instead. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using; please consult the Template page for the infobox being used on that page for proper instructions and documentation. Thanks! - Sumanuil. (talk to me) 08:41, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Sumanuil. I was not sure why it was looking so off, but I see now. Thanks for the fix and tip. Cheers. Ryanvanhuyssteen (talk) 08:46, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
