Algebraic tori

I revised and expanded the page on algebraic tori that you wrote a while ago. I included the theory over fields, which is what is needed in most mathematical applications such as classification of arithmetic groups and geometry of symmetric spaces and buildings. I included some of your stuff in the new sections but most is still as it was; I deleted only the example (I added more, including this one) and the rather cryptic remark that "the theory of tori is in some sense opposite to that of unipotent groups, because tori have rich arithmetic structure but no deformations" (I took it to mean that nilpotent Lie algebra have large moduli space for a given rank but no Galois cohomology while the opposite is true for tori; in any case I don't think it belongs in the lead unless there is a substantial section explaining it in the body). I think the stuff about arbitrary base scheme could still use some effort, in particular more detail in the definition (for example defining the multiplicative group in this generality) and maybe adding some examples over Spec(Z) (I'm no arithmetic geometer so I'd rather left that in more competent hands than mine).
