Boycs

Sarastro1 and DCGeist are keen followers of English cricket at FAC. BB too, of course YellowMonkey (new photo poll) 03:09, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

I've had a quick look and done a minor copy-edit of it. One sentence I couldn't work out was "In 1974 Boycott's form dipped, when he scored only 75 runs in the first innings of the season". It might be worth mentioning Yardley's resignation as he was president in 1984. And when he was dropped after his 246, was it not the time when the selectors kept saying that they wanted brighter cricket and would drop people who scored slowly? As well as his Gillette final, did he not play a nuts innings in a ODI in Australia in 79? In the commentating section, I think it needs to say he was sacked after the court case here as well as the next section. I also seem to remember that Boycs got some sympathy after the court case as he was perceived not to get a fair trial, but I could be hallucinating. A few other points: a few parts are missing references when they really could do with one, and if it went to FAC, it's length might receive a comment (I should know!). The reliance on McKinstry may be called, and even some of the use of Boycott's autobiography. Also, I suspect that, depending on who did the sources review, you may be asked to include something from the Yorkshire histories by Woodhouse and/or Hodgson. The other place that might have something is Gibson's Cricket Captains of England. And there's a few sources where Sutcliffe and Hutton sympathise with Boycs' burden. Otherwise, it looks pretty good to me, there are no big problems and it would have a good chance at FAC. It may need a last copy-edit before it went. I would be happy to do it, but YM may be better. Let me know if I can be of any help. --Sarastro1 (talk) 07:25, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi Sarastro1, those are some really helpful points. I shall try to implement them when I return next month. Unfortunately I don't have access to those sources at the mo', I don't know if anyone else at the Project does. --S.G.(GH) ping! 12:21, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
I've got a copy of Cricket Captains from 1979, which may have a bit, Jhall1 has an updated one. I might be able to get hold of the two Yorkshire histories and could probably supply some opinions from a few old cricketers like Hutton or Appleyard. Give me a shout if I can help when you get back. --Sarastro1 (talk) 19:03, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

Athens

SGGH Continuously Sthenel and his friend (Sv1xv) breach the rules and repeatedly we have discussed for this problem without can refute my ringing arguments and the official references. There isn't Athens urban area, Athens metropolitan or Athens urban area of the capital etc where included Piraeus urban according to laws (ΣΡΑ, ΝΟΜΠ, 3852/10, 21/1987 etc) of Greece State.--79.107.12.248 (talk) 12:31, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

Don't tell me, discuss it on the talk page. If there is discussion, point it out to the user. Don't get into a revert war, or the actual subject of the dispute becomes irrelevant in the face of the actual disruption. S.G.(GH) ping! 13:25, 26 September 2010 (UTC)

-en-admins access

Added. Though, until you get a cloak, you'll need to use /cs invite #wikipedia-en-admins in order to get ChanServ to send you an invite. Cheers =) --slakrtalk / 02:30, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
