RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism.

Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable.

Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created.

Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one.

Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

You can ask the webmaster to send a email to [permissions at wikimedia dot org]. For text to be included in Wikipedia, it must be licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License (text); the email must explicitly say that the text is released under the GFDL.

Alternatively, insert a disclaimer somewhere on the webpage itself, that states the text is released under the GFDL. Kimchi.sg 23:22, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The lack of a copyright notice ("(c) 2006 The Marching Virginians") at the page where the article was taken from does not mean that there's no copyright on the page. The creator of a webpage holds copyright on it immediately and automatically once it has been published on the Internet, no formal registration or notice is needed; the U.S. Copyright Office confirms this. [1]

Therefore, only an explicit statement (either by email or on the webpage) that states the text is released under the GFDL, makes it usable on Wikipedia. Kimchi.sg 23:51, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
